Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize the damage of an electrode surface by attachment and detachment, in a connector for connecting a printed circuit board to a cable, prevent the floating of a fixed electrode by detachment and attachment, and also prevent the floating of a holding member at assembling. CONSTITUTION: A holding member 14 has a notched part 14b to hold the top end of a fixed electrode 16 in such a manner as to be movable. Protruding pieces 8a, 18b are formed on side edges of a groove part 14a, so that the fixed electrode 16 is engagingly locked by these protruding pieces. Further, at least one protruding piece is formed on the longitudinal side end of the holding member, and a hole part to be engaged with the protruding piece is provided on the longitudinal side end of a connector body, so that the protruding piece is engagingly fixed by the hole part at assembling.

FIG. 9 is a conceptual partial perspective view of a conventional male connector, showing the arrangement of fixed electrodes. A plurality of groove portions 2 having a concave cross section are formed on the upper surface of the holding member 1, and fixed electrodes 3 each having a rectangular cross section are housed in the groove portions 2. A state in which such a male connector is inserted into a female connector is shown in a conceptual partial sectional view of FIG. The movable electrode 4 of the female connector has a body portion formed in a substantially S shape, and is held in a state of being urged downward in the drawing. When the male connector is inserted into the female connector, the fixed electrode 3 of the male connector enters while pushing the curved portion 4a of the movable electrode 4 of the female connector upward.
The connection is completed when both connectors reach the predetermined positions.

A connector in which the upper surface of the tip of the fixed electrode 3 is covered with a part of a holding member to reduce the collision between metals is also considered. However, in this method, if the attachment and detachment is repeated, the holding member 1 in a portion contacting the movable electrode 4 is scraped off, and the abrasion powder may scatter on the electrode surface to cause poor contact between the electrodes.

On the other hand, the movable electrode 4 of the female connector described above.
11 shows the groove portion 5 as shown in FIG. 11 which is a conceptual partial sectional view thereof.
It is housed in a holding member 6 formed with, and is mounted in the connector body (housing) 7 together with the holding member 6. By the way, when the movable electrode 4 is inserted into the groove portion 5 during assembly, the tip portion 4b of the movable electrode 4 becomes the end portion 6 of the holding member 6.
Since a is pressed in one direction (downward in the illustrated example), the tip of the holding member 6 is preloaded downward. Therefore, when the holding member 6 accommodating the movable electrode 4 is mounted in the connector main body 7, the tip of the holding member 6 may float up from the connector main body 7 due to preloading, and proper contact with the fixed electrode may not be obtained. .

On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 1, which is a conceptual partial perspective view of the male connector 10, a pair of protrusions for locking the fixed electrode 16 are formed at the longitudinal side edges of the groove 14a of the holding member 14. Pieces 18a and 18b are formed. Since the fixed electrodes 16 and 17 have vertically symmetrical shapes, the holding member 16 side will be described as an example here.

Although FIG. 1 shows an example in which projecting pieces are formed at both ends of the groove, at least one projecting piece is formed for one fixed electrode, and the fixed electrode is locked by this projecting piece. It goes without saying that the shape, number, and arrangement of the protruding pieces can be appropriately changed as long as they have a structure. For example, as shown in the conceptual cross-sectional view of FIG. 4, wedge-shaped protrusions 19a and 19b may be provided on the side edges of the groove 14a. Further, the protrusion may be a separate member attached to the side edge of the groove by a method such as adhesion or pressure bonding,
It may be formed over both ends of the groove.

When the male connector 10 shown in FIG. 1 and the female connector (not shown) are connected, the fixed electrodes 16 and 17 are connected.
Collides with a curved portion (see FIG. 10) of the movable electrode (not shown) on the opposite side, but the tip portions 16a and 17a of FIG.
Since it is held so as to be movable within 4b and 15b, when it collides with the movable electrode, it flexes in the pressing direction by the counter electrode and absorbs the impact. That is, according to the male connector 10 described above, since the impact when the electrodes collide with each other is mitigated by the bending of the electrode tips, the damage on the electrode surface when the attachment and detachment is repeated can be minimized. Become. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of contact failure due to damage on the electrode surface as much as possible.
