Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a packaging machine which continuously packages printed matter conveyed horizontally, requires less installation area and efficiently performs packaging in a short period of time, by a method wherein a packaging film is formed into a, thin hollow tube by a former, and the tube is heat-seled after goods to be packaged are inserted in the tubes. CONSTITUTION: A packaging film 11 is wound off from a roll 11, pulled by a driving roller 12 and supplied to a former 13 where the packaging film 11 is continuously formed into a tubular shape with its side margins overlapping and an insert space to insert printed matters to be packaged formed inside. The printed matters carried in by a conveyer are inserted into the insert space. After that, the tubular film is fusion-cut and welded in the lateral direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the tubular film by a lateral sealing device 15. Then, the overlapping side margins of the tubular film are welded by a longitudinal sealing device 16 and then second lateral sealing takes place corresponding to outputs of a sensor 17 that detects the lateral sealing position, thus packaging is completed.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, various types of packaging devices for automatically packaging printed matter have been known, but these types of devices are structurally complicated and large in size, and require a large installation area. Since the path is long, there is a drawback that packaging cannot be performed in a short time. Further, the present applicant has already proposed a vertical type packaging device for automatically and continuously packaging printed matter and the like, but it was not possible to convey the printed matter and the like in a horizontal state.

Operation: The wrapping film is pulled by the drive roller,
While being supplied, it is inverted and molded into a thin hollow cylinder by a former. The film pulled out from this former in a tubular shape has the tip (horizontal side of the lower end) fused and welded by a horizontal sealing device, and then the article to be packaged is stored inside the tubular body,
Then, after the seal position is confirmed by the position sensor, the horizontal sealing device and the vertical sealing device perform horizontal sealing at the rear end and heat sealing at the overlapping portion in the vertical direction. The fusing takes place at the same time during the transverse sealing at the rear end, whereby the packaged articles are separated as individual packages. The separated packaged article is transported to the outside of the device.

Next, the operation of the automatic continuous packaging device having the above-mentioned structure will be described. First, the driving roller 12 pulls out the packaging film 11a from the packaging film roll 11, and then continuously folds the tubular film 11b while reversing it at the former 13 portion.
The bottom sealing end is formed by the horizontal sealing device 15, and at the same time, the article to be packaged is transferred from the conveying means 14 and is inserted into the tubular film 11b through the insertion space formed by the former 13 by the insertion roller 21. The vertical sealing device 16 is inserted by the guide roller 22.
When the mark is preliminarily attached to the packaging film 11a or the end of the packaged item is detected by the position sensor 17 after being transported downward, the transport by the guide roller 22 is temporarily stopped by this, and in this state, the horizontal sealing device is provided. The sealing and dividing operations by 15 and the overlapping portion of the tubular film 11b by the vertical sealing device 16 are performed. The package thus completed is discharged outside the apparatus by the transfer means 18. On the other hand, at the same time as the sealing and dividing operations by the horizontal sealing device 15 and the vertical sealing device 16, the tubular film 11b is inserted through the insertion space of the above-mentioned packaged object at the site of the former 13 through the same steps as above. Is inserted into. Therefore, the transfer means 1
Simultaneously with the discharge of the previous package from the apparatus by 8, the next cylindrical film 11b for sealing is transferred below the vertical sealing device 16 by the guide roller 22 and positioned by the position sensor 17 and then in the same manner as described above. Sealing and cutting operations are performed. It goes without saying that the packaging device of the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and can be variously modified in design within the scope of not changing the gist of the invention.

As described above, according to the present invention, printed matter or the like can be horizontally transferred and continuously packaged with a simple structure.
Further, since the packaging film roll main body is housed below the conveying device for the articles to be packaged, the installation space of the device can be reduced.
