一端と装置固定部の間に掛渡したワイヤプーリ装置によ
り可動台の周期駆動を行なうが、この片側駆動では案内
部材に対する保持スパンを大にしなければならず、スリ
ツト露光光学装置が非常に大型になる。このため、従来
では、可動台の両端部にワイヤプーリ装置を配置した所
謂両側駆動により保持スパンを削減して装置の小型化を
図つている。しかしながら、この従来の両側駆動方式の
ものでも、複数の可動台は同一軌道面上を移動されるた
め、各可動台に搭載されたミラー相互の接近距離には自
づから限界があり、装置の小型化は期待するほどは図れ

し、該第2の可動台を該第1の可動台の1/2の速度で同
期運動させて原稿の光学的走査を行うスリット露光光学
装置において、前記第1の可動台を案内する第1軌道面
と前記第2の可動台を案内する第2軌道面とを有する板
状のチャンネルが前記第1及び第2の可動台の両端部を
案内するために一対設けられ、該第1及び第2の可動台
の両端部を略水平方向に駆動するために、該両端部に設
けた同期運動用の一対のワイヤープーリ装置を有し、前
記第1軌道面を前記第2軌道面の上方向に配置し、前記
第1の可動台と前記第2の可動台は移動範囲の一部で上
下方向で重なり合うように構成し、前記第1の可動台の
両端部な前記第1軌道面の上に乗って案内され、前記第
2の可動台の両端部は前記第2軌道面の上に乗って案内
されることを特徴とするスリット露光光学装置を提案す

投影レンズ10に入射させる第3ミラー11を有している。
前記第1可動台3及び第2可動台4は前記機体フレーム
1,2の内面に固定された水平方向の一対の“コ”字状チ
ヤンネル12,13により両端部の位置でそれぞれ案内され
る。即ち、一体的に形成した“コ”字状のチヤンネル1
2,13の上辺部12a,13aの上面には摩擦係数の小さな樹脂
テープ15が粘着してあり、この樹脂テープ15の表面によ
り第1軌道面16が構成され、これらの第1軌道面16には
第1可動台3の両端部に固定される樹脂ブロツク17の球
面突起18が接触される。また、“コ”字状チヤンネル1
