熱転写記録装置に用いられている転写媒体は、一般に芯
管に転写媒体を巻面したロール状のものが使用されてお
り、転写媒体を供給リールにセットし、転写媒体の端部
を走行系路に沿って引き出し巻き取りリールにセットさ
れている芯管に粘着性のテープなどで固定されている。
これら転写媒体の供給リール,巻き取りリール及び走行
系は筐体に直接配設されているため、転写媒体の補充や
単色記録とカラー記録の切り替えは装置内で行なわねば
ならず、取り外し時に巻き取り側の転写媒体がすべって
乱れたり、また巻径が大きくなって扱い難くなり交換な
ど記録作業以外に多大な時間がかかっていた。また転写
媒体の供給側と巻き取り側が離れているため交換時にし
わが発生したり、あるいは損傷する危険性があるなどの

の搬送系をカートリッジ化し、カートリッジを下部筐体
と離間する上部筐体に着脱可能に設けることにより、転
写媒体を装置より簡易に取り出し、交換が容易にできる
とともに記録媒体と転写媒体を夫々独立して交換及び保

ラテンローラ9と押圧し、同様に2色目,3色目の記録

せ、第3図に示すように、第2のフック16を解除して
上部筐体2よりカートリッジ3を分離しカートリッジ3
のみ図中B方向に、回動支点軸14のまわりに回動させ
た後、図中D方向に引き抜くことによりカートリッジ3
を装置から取り出す。取り出した状態で転写媒体7の補
充、あるいは単色への変換を行なうことにより、装置内
の部品等による転写媒体7の損傷の危険性もなく、また
装置内で交換する際に発生する作業エリアの制限もなく
自由に交換ができるので時間も短く、しわ等の発生も減
ずることができる。あらかじめカラー用あるいは単色用
のカートリッジ3を準備しておけばカートリッジ3のみ
の交換だけで済み記録作業以外の時間が著しく低減でき
