This structure, as shown in FIG. 18, has a large diameter pipe member (21).
The packing (1) is preliminarily loaded on the inner circumference of the receiving portion (21a) of the, and the pipe member (22) on the small diameter side is inserted into the receiving portion (21a), and both pipe members (2

This connection structure is often used for indoor piping for water supply or construction, and is used as a "press type pipe joint" by using a joint member for the pipe member (21) on the large diameter side in particular. A so-called O-ring is used for the packing (1).

Both pipe members (21) not only after pressing but also before pressing
It is sandwiched between (22) and has a certain sealing effect. Therefore, according to the above structure, even if the installer forgets to press the connection portion during piping construction, it is not possible to detect this construction defect because there is no water leakage during the subsequent water pressure test. There is a risk that a major accident will occur during actual work. O above
To detect this construction defect using a ring,
It is only necessary to allow the O-ring to play in a non-compressed state before pressing, but with this arrangement, the pipe members (21) (22) rattle in the radial direction and the pipe members (21) (22) are firmly fixed. And the problem that cannot be positioned occurs.

The state of being interposed between the pipe members (21) and (22) as shown in the figure is shown, and both figures show the state before pressing. In this state, the packing (1) is compressed and deformed in the radial direction with a crushing margin shown by t 1 in FIG.
(2) and the other part of the packing (1) (including the intermediate part (1a), the same applies below) at the boundary between the inner wall of the pipe member (21) (22) Forming (12). Therefore, even if the pressing process should be forgotten during the construction, a situation in which water leaks from the interstitial channel (11) without fail during a hydraulic pressure test performed thereafter can be detected and treated. Further, since the packing (1) is compressed in the radial direction within the range of the crushing allowance, the pipe members (21) and (22) do not rattle.

Therefore the packing (1)
Has a reliable sealing action, and can sufficiently fulfill its original role as a sealing member. The packing (1) is formed by forming an annular bead (2) to set the protrusions (3) (4), so that even if the packing (1) is loaded in a twisted state, the gap (1) is surely secured. The flow channels (11) and (12) can be formed. Further, since the two annular beads (2) (2) are arranged side by side slightly apart, the relative expansion of the intermediate portion (1a) is increased in the state of FIG. 4 to increase the large gap flow passages (11) (12). Can be formed. The boundary line between the annular bead (2) and other portions shown in FIG. 6 is for the sake of clarity.

The packing (1) shown in FIGS. 11 and 12 has a convex portion (6) integrally formed on a part of the inner peripheral edge of the packing (1) having a perfect circular cross section. A gap channel (14) is formed as shown in FIG. These recesses (5) and protrusions (6) may be formed on the outer peripheral edge of the packing (1) or may be formed in combination. As a special example of this combination, the packing (1) shown in FIGS. 14 to 16 has a pair of protrusions (7) and recesses (8) that change the curvature of one part of the packing (1) to the other part. The cross-sectional shape of the part is set to be a perfect circle with the same shape and size as the cross-sectional shape of the other part, and the local excessive compression after pressing is mitigated. It is a structure to get.

Since it is provided and the gap flow path is formed in the stage before the pressing, it is possible to reliably detect the defect in the construction (forgetting of the press). Further, since the gap flow path is eliminated by pressing, a sufficient sealing effect can be obtained even after pressing. In the above embodiments, the packing has a circular cross section, but the contents of the present invention can be applied to packings of any shape.
