Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the utilization by providing a control section which discriminates the mount state of the display device to turn on/off the display of the display device to the display device and connecting the control section to a data output controller thereby controlling display ON/OFF depending on the mount state of the display device. CONSTITUTION:A pressure sensor 11 is mounted to a node pad in the small sized spectacle type display device 10 to sense whether or not the display device 10 is in contact with the nose. Then a signal from the pressure sensor 11 is received by a control section 12 to discriminate the mount state of the display device 10. When the display device 10 is worn, an indication from a data output controller 14 of the display device 13 is set and when the display device 10 is dismounted, an indication from the data output controller 14 of the display device 13 is released. Moreover, the pressure sensor 11 is mounted anywhere the display device 10 is mounted and in contact therewith.

2. Description of the Related Art While a television receiver itself is becoming larger and more multifunctional, it has been a long time since a liquid crystal television having a small size and lightness and a high portability was developed like a portable radio and a cassette recorder. The portable liquid crystal televisions on the market are of the pocket storage type, and other head-mounted display devices are also known (Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 1-29577 and 1-133479).
