A vehicular lamp having a reflecting mirror and a lens arranged in front of a light source, wherein the auxiliary reflecting mirror has one reflecting surface divided into two parts by a vertical line passing through an optical axis,
Each optical axis is rotatably supported on the front surface of the main reflecting mirror by a vertical rotation axis so that the optical axis is tilted in the horizontal direction, and the respective focal points of the main reflecting mirror and the auxiliary reflecting mirror are the light source or A vehicle lamp characterized in that a lens cut having a wide diffusion angle is provided at an abutting position of an optical axis which is located in the vicinity thereof and is tilted by rotation of the auxiliary reflecting mirror of the lens. Thus, for example, it is possible to realize a vehicular lamp that can be used as a headlamp having a light distribution characteristic corresponding to high-speed traveling and low-speed traveling, and solve the problems occurring in the conventional ones.

There is a main reflecting mirror 3 formed as, for example, a paraboloid of revolution by a known means with a or a vicinity thereof as a focal point, and a lens 4 is provided in front of this main reflecting mirror 3. However, according to the present invention, the pair of auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 are provided close to the front surface of the main reflecting mirror 3 in the vehicle lamp 1.

The auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 pass through the optical axis of a single paraboloid of revolution whose focal point is the filament 2a of the light source 2 or its vicinity. The auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 are provided with rotating shafts 5a and 6a perpendicular to the vehicular lamp 1, respectively.
The gears a and 6a are connected by gears 5b and 6b having the same ratio so that they rotate in opposite directions. By doing so, by rotating the gears 5b and 6b, the auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 are turned inward in a substantially C-shape from the reference state in which they form one paraboloid of rotation. It will rotate to the state.

FIG. 2 shows the position of the reference state and the auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 are in close contact with each other. In this state, a single paraboloid of revolution is formed, and at this time, the focus position of the paraboloid of revolution formed by the auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 is set to the same position as that of the main reflecting mirror 3. As a result, the reflected light from the filament 2a becomes completely equivalent to that from the main reflecting mirror 3, and the auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 are substantially absent, so that the normal reflecting light from the main reflecting mirror 3 alone is present. It is completely equivalent to a vehicle lamp.

As described above, the light reflected from the auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 is formed into a substantially V shape by the horizontal rotation. Each of them is directed inward, intersects in front of the vehicular lamp 1, and spreads horizontally to the left and right.

It is provided in the upper half of the vehicle and is used as the reference position shown in Fig. 2 when traveling at high speeds on highways, suburbs, etc. At this time, for example, in order to irradiate as far away as possible according to relevant regulations, etc. The lens cut 4ai at the position where the reflected light from the auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 in the standard position comes into contact has a low degree of diffusion, and the light distribution characteristics of the vehicular lamp 1 at this time are shown in FIG. As shown by the light curve N, it has a spot shape with a relatively narrow width. On the other hand, when traveling at a low speed in an urban area, the auxiliary reflecting mirror 5,
6 is the rotation position shown in FIG. 3, and the auxiliary reflecting mirror 5,
The lens cut 4aii at the position where the reflected light from 6 comes into contact has a high degree of diffusion, and its light distribution characteristic is shown in FIG. 5 in combination with the action of expanding the auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 in the horizontal direction as described above. As shown by the light distribution curve W, it becomes easy to confirm a wide shoulder or the like.

Instead of the gears 5b and 6b, driving means 5c and 6c such as stepping motors are attached, whereby the auxiliary reflecting mirrors 5 and 6 are respectively attached. Are individually rotatable. By doing so, for example, as in the previous embodiment, the vehicle lamp 1 is being used as a headlight, and when measuring a turn, it is on the opposite side of the turning direction, that is, on the right side when turning to the left. By rotating only the auxiliary reflecting mirror 6,
The light distribution characteristic of the vehicular lamp 1 is such that the turning direction is widely radiated as shown by a light distribution curve L in FIG. 7, and the function of a cornering lamp can be obtained without using auxiliary lights. By driving the driving means 5c and 6c in the same manner as described in the previous embodiment, the same operation as in the previous embodiment can be obtained.

A reference position where the auxiliary reflecting mirror forms one reflecting surface by making a lens cut corresponding to this tilt at the contact position of the reflected light that is tilted and changes along the horizontal direction due to the rotation. In this case, it can be used as an ordinary vehicle lamp, and by rotating both or one of the auxiliary reflecting mirrors as necessary, various light distributions such as for high speed traveling, low speed traveling or turning can be obtained. The characteristics can be obtained without providing an auxiliary light, etc., and the visibility during driving is enhanced, and the safety is improved.
