Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a display capable of expressing all the alphabetical characters with segments less than that in a conventional system in the display of segment pattern display system which displays the alphabetical characters. CONSTITUTION:The display of segment pattern display system which displays 26 alphabetical characters is provided with two segments 1, 3 which form the horizontal part of an outer periphery, four segments 4-7 which form the perpendicular part of the periphery, one segment A2 arranged horizontally at an intermediate position among the four segments 4, 5 and 6, 7 of the perpendicular part, and four segments 8-11 arranged obliquely in radial shape at both terminals of the two segments 1, 3 which form the horizontal part of the periphery from the intermediate point of the segment A2.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a display device, and more particularly to a display device capable of displaying alphabets in a segment system for displaying alphabets with fewer segments than in the past.

2. Description of the Related Art In a conventional segment type display, as shown in FIG. 3, the alphabet display is made by 14 segments 21 to 34. FIG. 4 shows a display example of alphabet display by this conventional display.

This conventional display requires 14 segments in order to display alphabets. Therefore, there are many signal lines for driving these 14 segments and a drive for a display device having a large number of circuit configurations. The circuit must be built into the display. Therefore, there is a disadvantage that it is extremely disadvantageous in terms of downsizing and cost.

The display device of the present invention is a display device of a segment pattern display system for displaying 26 letters of the alphabet, in which two segments forming a horizontal portion of the outer periphery and a vertical portion of the outer periphery are formed. Four segments, one segment A horizontally arranged at an intermediate position between two segments on the left and right of the vertical portion, and two segments forming the horizontal portion of the outer periphery from the midpoint of the segment A. As described above, the present invention can display all 26 letters of the alphabet by forming a segment pattern with 11 segments. Therefore, compared with the conventional 14 segments, the drive circuit of the display section is improved. Since it is small in size and the number of lines for driving the display unit is small, it is possible to realize an inexpensive and easy-to-implement display.

A display device of a segment pattern display system for displaying 26 letters of the alphabet, in which two segments forming a horizontal portion of the outer circumference, four segments forming a vertical portion of the outer circumference, and the vertical portion One segment A is horizontally arranged at an intermediate position between two left and right segments, and two segments that form the horizontal portion of the outer circumference from the midpoint of the segment A are radially obliquely arranged at both ends.
