毎日夜遅く迄作業しなければならなかった。一方、夏場
に出荷する場合は気温が高いので氷や蓄冷剤で温度を下
げ保冷車などで保冷しながら市場へ出荷しているので、

保つことを特徴とする蓮根の貯蔵方法である。すなわち
蓮根を夏場や収穫期の出荷あるいは貯蔵時にプラスチッ
クフィルム製袋に密封包装する際、吸水紙を巻き付ける
などして蓮根を包装し、これにさらにエチレン吸収剤及
び炭酸ガス吸収剤を同封し、また必要に応じて脱酸素剤
を併用することにより、品質を保持しながら長期貯蔵可
能ならしめたものである。密封の方法はヒートシールま
たは輪ゴム止めの何れでもよい。なお本発明に用いるフ
ィルムはガス透過度の低い、ポリエステル、ナイロンな
どがあげられ、このフィルムの二酸化炭素及び酸素のガ
ス透過度は、それぞれ500、200cc/m224H以下が好まし
い。また、本発明における吸水紙は蓮根に付着している
水滴や蓮根が蒸散する水分を除去し、カビの発生を防止
するものであればよく、例えば不織布、ティッシュまた
はこれら素材に高分子吸収剤を加工したものが用いられ
