Therefore, as a means to automate this process, we opened a bound book with its spine facing down to the left and right with several sheets in the center standing upright, and inserted the pieces of paper into the area through which the upright portions passed and placed the pieces of paper in a horizontal position. It has been proposed that the sheet of paper is left facing the user, and as it passes, the sheet of paper is folded in half from the middle portion, and then inserted along both sides of the upright portion, and the bound book is closed again.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) By the way, as a conventional method for inserting pieces of paper into a bound book, manual work is extremely inefficient, and conventionally proposed automatic devices do not allow the back of the bound book to be inserted. Since it is unfolded downward, it is necessary for this unfolded state to pass under the inserted piece of paper placed horizontally with the upright part left fully open to the left and right, and it is necessary to close it again. For this reason, it is necessary to lengthen the path for moving the bound book in order to carry out this unfolding and closing, which has the disadvantage that the overall length of the processing machine becomes long and bulky.
Further, according to this conventional method, since the book must be opened with the back facing down and a portion of the book must remain upright, the back needs to be stabilized, and it has the disadvantage that it cannot be applied to thin books in particular.

Therefore, the present invention is intended to provide an automatic insertion device which can reduce the bulk of the mechanical device and which can be applied to thin bound books, and which can work efficiently.

(Means for Solving the Problems) Therefore, in the present invention, first, a device configuration means is adopted that processes the bound books in the horizontal position with the bound book lying in its thickness direction, and some of the bound books are half-opened in the horizontal position. A slit metal fitting is provided to hold the leaf, a discontinuous part is provided on this metal fitting, and a piece of inserted paper is placed facing the discontinuous position, and from both sides of the leaf side of the bound book that advances in contact with the piece,
It is configured to obtain a sandwiched state while being pushed in by the slit fitting in the latter half following the discontinuous part.

(Function) According to the present invention, since the bound book is transported in a horizontal position, the bound book can be transported stably under stress by means such as pinching the back of the bound book during transport. During this time, the bound book is held in a half-open state by the slit fittings, leaving a few pages separated by the slit fittings (specifically, several pages sandwiched by the slit fittings and along both outside sides of the fittings). ) is maintained.

The inserted piece of paper waiting at the discontinuous portion of the slit fitting hits the edge of the bound book that has moved in the half-open state, and is pushed together with the bound book into the latter half of the slit fitting. The second half of the slit fitting works to intrude and push the inserted paper piece along both sides of the several-leaf section of the bound book that also intrudes while turning it in a curved manner.

As a result, the inserted paper piece is forcefully inserted into the small gap between the pair of parallel flat plates of the slit fitting. Then, the bound book that has passed through the slit fitting closes naturally due to its own weight from the half-open state, and the inserting operation is completed.

That is, when the cylinder 17 rotates and the row of intake holes 18 reaches the position directly above it, the support rod 19 is also in the uppermost position, and the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder 17 is held by the stocker 15. At the same time, suction from the suction hole 13 starts when it comes into contact with the lower surface of the inserted paper piece 13, and by the subsequent rotation of the rotary cylinder 17 and the downward movement of the support rod 19, one piece of the inserted paper piece 13 is moved to the stocker 15. At this time, the suction operation is interrupted when the cylinder 17 is rotated so that the row of intake holes 18 reaches the position directly below it. When the support rod 19 has reached its lowest position, the inserted paper piece 13, which has fallen away from the rotary tube 17 due to its own weight, rides on the feed-out roller 20 directly below it.

At the time when the tip of the inserted paper piece 13 that has been fed out is pinched between the feed roller 20 and the pinch roller 22, the suction force of the feed roller 20 to the intake hole 21 is cut off by the valve action, and after that the pinch By the clamping action of the rollers 22, the inserted paper piece is sent to the upright position. FIG. 3 shows the positional relationship between the transport path of the bound book 3 and the feeding of the inserted paper piece 13.

Bound books 3 stacked on mounting table 1 at position A in Figure 4
The lowermost book is pushed out by the protrusion 2 and reaches position B in the figure. In this position B, the thin-blade separating metal fitting 10 bites into the binding book 3 from the open end of the moving binding book 3, and guides the several leaves of the binding book 3 between the slits of the metal fitting 10, while guiding the leaves of the binding book 3 between the slits. The slit gap is made slightly wider toward the rear of this separation fitting 10, and is connected to the slit fitting 8, so that when the bound book 3 is transferred to position C in the figure, The separated several leaves pass through a sufficiently spacious space, and with the other leaves of the bound book 3 spread out on both sides of the outside of the metal fitting 8, the book moves to the next position D in the figure.

The bound book 3 that has reached the D position has its paper edges facing the discontinuous portion of the slit fitting 8, comes into contact with the hanging inserted paper piece 13, and moves directly toward the slit fitting 11 in the latter half. Of course, at this time, due to the grip of the discontinuous portion and the stiffness of the sheets of the bound book 3, the slit fitting 1 can be removed without any problem.
A movement from 0 to 11 is performed.

At the edge of the bound book 3 that has advanced to the slit fitting 11, the inserted paper piece 13 is pushed by the edge of the slit fitting 11, as shown in Fig. At the same time, while sliding the inverted curved portion in a sequential manner, the inserted paper pieces 13 are rolled up so as to run along both sides of the separated several sheets.

When the insertion by winding up the inserted paper piece 13 is completed and the bound book 3 passes through the area of the slit metal fitting 11, the bound book 3, which has been released from the separation and push-opening by the metal fitting 11, closes naturally under its own weight. The inserted paper piece 13 is properly inserted so as to sandwich the previous few separated sheets.

In addition, in the above-described apparatus of the present invention, the height position of the regulating rod 4 of the mounting table 1,
The position of the bottom plate metal fitting 14 is adjusted according to the clamping pressure of the guide rail 7, the height position of the slit metal fittings 10 and 11 from the holder 5, and the length of the inserted paper piece 13. Furthermore, since the inserted paper piece 13 is sent out with its front and back turned upside down by the operation of the rotary tube 17, it is necessary to set it with the printed surface facing downward when it is stored in the stocker 15.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the device of the present invention, by configuring the step of first stacking the bound books flat and then processing them in the horizontal position, it is possible to stack the bound books. Furthermore, as the number of stacks decreases through processing, it is possible to stack them one after another, allowing continuous operation in automatic processing. In particular, the processing of bound books in the horizontal position in the apparatus of the present invention is advantageous in the following points. In other words, a bound book, which is held in a horizontal position between a guide rail and a chain belt and fed forcefully and stably, is separated into several sheets by a slit metal fitting, and is placed in a half-open state where the metal fitting does not intrude. Because of this, there is no need to fully open the bound books vertically as in conventional devices, and the process stroke for this opening operation can be made extremely short. As a result, the overall length of the device can be shortened and the device can be made smaller. It can be configured bulky. In addition, in the vertical position processing of bound books in conventional devices, the spine of the bound book is stiff to maintain the vertical position, and it was not possible to process thin bound books, etc., but the present invention The horizontal position processing of the device allows processing of thin books, which is not possible with conventional devices.

As described above, the device of the present invention can reduce the bulk of the device configuration, expand the thickness and shape of bound books that can be processed, and improve work efficiency through continuous processing, making it suitable for practical use. It is extremely useful.
