【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 パネル本体と、このパネル本体上に配し
たパッドと、このパッドの表面に形成した表皮とにより
一体に構成され、前記パネル本体の前記エアバッグ装置
が対向する位置にこのエアバッグ装置の作動時膨張展開
するエアバッグが飛び出し可能となるようエアバッグ飛
出開口を形成し、この開口の一辺にヒンジを介して開閉
自在に取り付け且つこの開口との間の隙間を除いて殆ど
を覆うリッドを設けたエアバッグ装置を内蔵したインス
トルメントパネルにおいて、 前記リッドのヒンジが取り付く一辺を除いてコ字状に形
成された三辺における端縁の前記表皮内にあって何れか
側部に一端部を持つワイヤを配し、前記隙間を介してパ
ネル本体内に導かれたこのワイヤの他端部にワイヤ巻き
取り装置を結合し、衝突信号により前記表皮内のワイヤ
が移動して中空状にするべく前記ワイヤ巻き取り装置に
その稼働信号を発し、次にリッドの脆弱部と化した中空
部及び該中空部に接するパッドの部位夫々を破断させる
前記エアバッグ装置の膨張展開信号をインフレータ制御
部に発するエアバッグ制御ユニットを接続したことを特
徴とする自動車用エアバッグ装置を内蔵したインストル
メントパネル。
