Description of the Related Art When teaching "characters" to a child for the first time, while the parent shows the picture book and read it, at the same time, take the child's hand about how to write the "characters" representing the animals, vehicles, etc. The conventional way of teaching "characters" is to teach them one by one, or for teachers to give "aiueo" etc. on the blackboard one by one while giving attention to the number of strokes, character shape, stroke order, etc.

There are many examples of teaching to one's own child. In addition, when a parent teaches an infant who has a strong desire for knowledge, it is often difficult in time to teach the child, and it is often the case that the child's requirements cannot be fully met. In the case of such an infant with a strong desire for knowledge, a device that allows you to rewrite it by simulating the "hiragana" that represents animals and vehicles in picture books etc. Sometimes I try to remember it myself. In such a case, the stroke order is often completely wrong, and as a result the stroke count is incorrect and the glyph itself can not be remembered, so the parents and teachers have to correct it later. No, sometimes you have a hard time fixing a wrong habit. In the case of a child with a strong desire for knowledge like this, the child can practice the "characters" by himself and judge right or wrong the number of strokes of the character written by the child, the stroke order, the character shape, etc. on the spot to find out what was wrong. It can be said that all of the above problems will be solved with the aid of learning tools.

By comparing and analyzing with the stored standard pattern, the correctness determination is comprehensively performed, and the determination result is displayed on the display device together with the written input pattern. Further, this handwritten input pattern is a handwritten character, and this handwritten character is compared and analyzed with the correct stroke count, stroke order, character shape, etc. of the character stored in advance in the storage means, and the correctness determination is comprehensively performed. The judgment result is displayed on the display device together with the written character, and at the same time, the correct character and the handwritten character are overlapped and displayed, and each of them is color-coded for each stroke according to the stroke order.

A method of recognizing a pattern input by handwriting and determining whether it is correct or incorrect will be described by taking Kanji as an example. All kanji or common kanji (1945) that are frequently used in everyday life are decomposed into one of the 37 stroke sets shown in FIG. 3 according to the stroke of each stroke of the kanji. It is stored in the character identification dictionary in the ROM 18. For example, the model “right” kanji is displayed on the screen of the monitor TV 4, while the child displays the “right” character on the touch panel 11 in the stroke order from 20 to 20 as shown in FIG. When written, it is sent to the CPU 6 of the system main body 2 as coordinate data by the above-mentioned SIO 15, and is displayed side by side on the screen of the monitor television 4 along with the “right” character of the model, in line with the stroke. This handwritten “right” character is extracted as a stroke indicated by 21 in FIG. 4 for each stroke drawn by the child (for example, counted as one stroke when the child pen downs), and this stroke 20 is extracted as shown in FIG. The “right” character 23 stroke 24 stored in the character identification dictionary 22 in the ROM 18 is collated, compared, and analyzed to be recognized as the “right” character 25.
In the character identification dictionary 22, "right" 23 and "left" in FIG.
As shown in FIG. 26, similar Kanji characters are grouped based on the bias, the stroke, the crown, and the like, and collation and comparison with similar Kanji characters are also performed.

When the child inputs, for example, the number of strokes such as S1 to S5 of 28 and the stroke order, the correct stroke order T1 to T5 as shown in the table of FIG.
And the corresponding stroke order S1 to S5 are compared and compared to determine whether the stroke count and the stroke order are correct. The lengths of the strokes S1 to S5 are calculated based on the "right" coordinate data input at this time, and the shape, direction, angle, and manner of intersection of the written characters, as well as the volume, straw, and crown. Positional relations such as the above are collated, and each part is evaluated and graded, and then a graded evaluation is comprehensively calculated to determine whether or not the shape is correct. Specifically, the correct character shape, the accepted character shape, and the rejected character that is not recognized as the designated character are scored as patterns in advance and stored in the character identification dictionary. Patterns are compared and compared, and for example, a pattern of xx points or more is determined as a correct character shape. In addition, when determining the character shape, check for tome, splash, harai, tsuku, hanare, and missing. Also, the rewrite is treated as an abnormal glyph.

を筆順に従って一画毎に色分け表示する。As described above, based on the result of sequentially checking whether the number of strokes is correct, the stroke order is correct, and the character shape is correct, the kanji input by handwriting is comprehensively judged as correct. The result of the correctness determination is displayed on the display device 4, and at the same time, the correct character and the handwritten character are overlapped and displayed, and each character is color-coded for each stroke according to the stroke order.

Learning of kana, kanji, and figures can be done in almost the same procedure. When the power is turned on, an instruction for selecting learning contents is first displayed on the screen of the monitor TV 4. Touch the date on the touch panel 11
Enter from. Next, select one of the letters (Hiragana etc.) that you want to learn by dividing it into numbers, and the letters in the block and the words and pictures using those letters will appear on the screen.
At the same time, those letters are audibly indicated by the cassette tape 9. According to the selected block, the first character is copied on the touch panel 11 by imitating the model character shown on the monitor TV 4 (trace writing) (STEP 1). At this time, the characters printed on the sheet placed on the touch panel 11 are traced and written. If you press the predetermined judgment key on the touch panel 11 after writing, if the written character is wrong (STEP
