ボ−ルペンの先端金属チップに銅合金系の黄銅、洋白製
のものを用いた場合、従来の顔料を用いた市販の水性ボ
−ルペン用インキを使用しても、特に問題はない。しか
し、水性ボ−ルペンの場合先端金属チップとボ−ルとの
間隙は大きく、したがって長期間使用によりチップ先端
部が摩耗してボ−ルがチップから脱落しやすくなる。そ
のため耐摩耗性を有するステンレス鋼が使用されるよう
になってきた。ところがボ−ルペンの先端金属チップに
ステンレス鋼(クロム12〜20%含有のクロム鋼)製
チップを用いた場合、他の金属の場合と比較して運筆の
滑らかさが十分でなく、特に顔料としてカ−ボンブラッ

り、その二、三の例をあげると即ち金属石鹸、燐酸系活
性剤、シリコ−ン、ポリアルキレングリコ−ル、脂肪酸
エステル、エチレンオキサイド付加型カチオン活性剤、
ロ−ト油、チオカルバミン酸塩などが公知である。然し
これらを添加した水性ボ−ルペン用インキを使用するボ
−ルペンの対応するチップに関しては特に細かい記述は
なく、特にステンレスチップを意識して研究開発された
ものではない。本発明者はこれらのものをステンレスチ
ップに適応して試してみたが満足な結果は得られなかっ

る。しかし、該公報によれば、着色料として染料を必須
成分としており、顔料については何等記載されておら
ず、又その作用効果は超硬ボ−ルの耐蝕性の向上につい
てであり、実施例としてもチップは金属ではなくポリア
セタ−ル樹脂製のものが使用されている。勿論潤滑性の
問題とかステンレスチップに関してもまったく記述がな
い。しかも、該公報に示されているジアルキルチオ尿素
の添加量は0.1%〜10%であって、本発明において
はジアルキルチオ尿素の添加量は0.05〜0.1%で
十分であり、作用効果も添加量領域も全く異なる。しか
して、本発明の場合0.2%以上添加すると効果は逆に
減少する方向にある。本発明が0.05〜0.1%で十
分である科学的理由は定かではないが、多分ステンレス
チップのボ−ルを抱持している部分に一分子膜程度が吸
着される事によって効果が発揮されているものと推察さ
