Abstract
Description
Claims (8)
- (1)単一モード光ファイバと、ポンプ波長で光放射を行なわせる光学ポンプソ ースと、ポンプ波長で励起状態吸収を呈するレーザ放射媒体を含む複数のファイ バ増幅器セクションとを含み、光ポンプソースは、各セクションが光ポンプ信号 の部分によってポンプされるように各セクションに対して縦方向に結合されるレ ーザ増幅器。
- (2)各ファイバセクションの長さはそれがポンプされているポンプパワー部分 に対して実質的に最適な長さである請求項1記載のレーザ増幅器。
- (3)ファイバセクションは単一ファイバの隣接した部分である請求項1または 2記載のレーザ増幅器。
- (4)少なくとも部分的に一致している2つのファイバセクションがあり、ポン プパワーの第1の部分は第2の部分が別の方向にポンプされるものと反対方向に 1つのセクションにおいてポンプされる請求項1または2記載のレーザ増幅器。
- (5)ポンプソースはレーザダイオードアレイである請求項1乃至4のいずれか 1項記載のレーザ増幅器。
- (6)ポンプソースは1つ以上の2色ファイバカップラによってファイバに縦方 向に結合される請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項記載のレーザ増幅器。
- (7)ファイバはエルビウムでドープされたシリカベースファイバを含む請求項 1乃至6のいずれか1項記載のレーザ増幅器。
- (8)ポンプ波長は約800nmである請求項7記載のレーザ増幅器。
