Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the working easiness in connecting an insulated wire and also reliance upon the contact, simplify the structure, and reduce the manufacturing costs by furnishing a pressing part with a strand guide surface, which inclines toward the strand receiving surface of the part to be pressed and leads the strand into a non-screw terminal, and providing a projection contacting the side face of the part pressed on each side of the strand guide surface. CONSTITUTION:Strand 6b presses to a pressing part 5 is guided by a strand guide surface 5a into a non-screw terminal. This allows accomplishing connection only through twisting process of strand 6b after stripping the insulative covering 6a. Because the strand 6b is inserted into a closed space bounded by the pressing part 5, projection 5b, and part to be pressed 4, eventually connected strand 6b in the condition with unsatisfactory twisting does not cause any part thereof to extrude out of the terminal to result in flattening, and the contacting pressure with strand 6b can be secured sufficiently, and electric connection as well as mechanical fixation of insulated wire is ensured. This allows accomplishing the working easiness in connecting the insulated wire and also reliance upon the contact, simplifying the structure, and reducing the manufacturing costs.

This screwless terminal is made by removing the insulation coating from the insulated wire.
The connection can be made simply by twisting the exposed stranded wires 3. This means that the connected strands 3 are connected to the notch 2.
This is because the contact pressure with a is concentrated at the center of the movable piece 2. Therefore, in the case of this screwless terminal, there is no need to solder the stranded wires 3 as described above.

The stranded wire pressed by the action pressing portion is guided into the terminal by the stranded wire guide surface. As a result, the connection can be made by simply twisting the stranded wires after peeling off the insulating film, thereby improving the workability of connecting the insulated wires and the reliability of their contact. Furthermore, since the stranded wire is inserted into a closed space formed by the pressing part, its protruding part, and the pressed part, if the stranded wire is connected with insufficient twisting. A part of the insulated wire will not protrude from the terminal and become flat, and sufficient contact pressure with the stranded wire can be ensured. In other words, the electrical connection and mechanical fixation of the insulated wire can be reliably achieved. Furthermore, it is possible to reduce the risk of short circuit accidents between different poles due to a part of the stranded wire protruding from the terminal. Furthermore, since the structure is simple, manufacturing costs can be reduced.
