Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the safety from the standpoint of strength in a vehicle and a tunnel internal wall as well as to reduce a noise in the tunnel by installing such a member as reducing the extent of external pressure load and sound due to the running vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of set-bristles 2 are installed in the inner wall of a rigid tunnel wall 1 composed of concrete material. In this connection, such methods may be available in place of this constitution that a plate type grid 3 with a lot of grid holes is installed on the inner wall, or the inner wall is formed with a lot or irregular parts 4b, or this inner wall is covered with a soft wall consisting of soft material. With this constitution, any external pressure load and sound being produced at a time when a vehicle passes through the tunnel are thus reducible.

When a high-speed vehicle enters or passes through the conventional tunnel described above,
As pressure increases between the vehicle and the tunnel inner wall, an external pressure load acts on the vehicle structure and the tunnel inner wall, and harmful noise generated from the vehicle is also reflected by the tunnel inner wall.
