Adjust the settings to match the display surface of display device C to prevent the reflected light from entering the operator's eyes, or install a hood d in front of the display surface of display device C to prevent the illumination light from entering the operator's eyes, as shown in (C). It also prevents the incidence of

This may interfere with the lighting in certain areas, resulting in unnatural lighting. In addition, in the method of providing a hood in front of the display surface of the display device, predetermined display information becomes difficult to see. Furthermore, even when any of these methods is adopted, it is difficult to completely prevent reflection.

The mechanism installs a first polarizing filter 3 on the side of the illumination light source 1 between the illumination light source 1 and the light emitting display 2 so that the light in the direction of the light emitting display 2 becomes P-polarized light. In addition, the display surface 4 of the light-emitting display 2
On the front side of the polarizing filter 3, a second polarized light whose polarization direction is perpendicular to that of the first polarizing filter 3 and whose incident angle of the P-polarized light passing through the second polarizing filter 3 becomes the Brewster's angle. A filter 5 is installed.

Thus, the light from the illumination light source 1 becomes P-polarized light 6b in the direction of the light-emitting display 2 and enters the second polarizing filter 5. Since the second polarizing filter 5 is installed so that the incident angle O of the P-polarized light 6b is the Brewster's angle, there is no reflection on the surface of the second polarizing filter 5.

Since it is perpendicular to the arrow b), the P-polarized light 6b is absorbed by the second polarizing filter 5 and does not reach the display surface 4 of the display 2. Therefore, there is no possibility that the light will be reflected on this display surface 4.

Therefore, the operator can obtain display information on the display surface 4 from the front surface 8 side of the second polarizing filter 5 using the linearly polarized light 7b without reflection of the illumination light source l from the display surface 4.

is installed. This first polarizing filter 3 is installed so that light directed toward the light-emitting display device 2 (to be described later) becomes P-polarized light 6b. The configuration of the illumination light source 1 and the corresponding installation method of the first polarizing filter 3 are appropriate as long as the above-mentioned conditions are satisfied. The illumination light source 1 includes external light, and in this case, the first polarizing filter 3

The second polarizing filter 5 has its polarization direction (arrow a) orthogonal to the polarization direction (arrow b) of the first polarizing filter 3, and also has an incident angle of the P-polarized light 6b that has passed through the first polarizing filter 3. Install so that θ is Brewster's angle. Therefore, this second polarizing filter 5 is installed on the front side of the display surface 4 of the light-emitting display 2 so as to form the predetermined angle according to its refractive index. In this case, if the installation angle of the second polarizing filter 5 can be adjusted by an appropriate angle adjustment mechanism,
Installation at a predetermined angle with respect to the target illumination light source 1 is easy.
