However, when the above-mentioned repellents are actually used, they have the disadvantage that they are not sufficiently effective and their duration is short. For example, a repellent containing diethyltoluamide as a main component has an initial effect but is not sustainable, which poses a major problem as a commercial product.

In addition, many of the preparations currently on the market are based on essential oils extracted from plant-based sources, and although they are effective to some extent for cats, they are not yet fully satisfied.
It is also considerably less effective against dogs, birds, and rodents.

As a result of many years of research into the repellent effects of animals and birds, the present inventors have discovered that by conversely utilizing the instinctive physiological functions and behaviors of each individual animal to secure its territory, It has been found that an effective repellent effect can be obtained and can be maintained for a long period of time.

That is, the first aspect of the present invention is characterized in that the active ingredient is a deodorant having the effect of deodorizing or modifying odors (generally referred to as odor changing). To explain the effect of this deodorant, it purifies the environment by deodorizing or modifying the animal's own body odor, the familiar environmental odor, human urine odor, feed odor, etc.
It completely changes the atmosphere of the living environment where the animal feels safe, makes it feel strange, gives a feeling of confusion, fear, awe, disgust, etc., and causes a mental and psychological repellent effect.
Furthermore, it has the secondary effect of suppressing appetite, increasing anxiety, and increasing asexual desire in the animal itself. Such action provides an effective repellent effect against animals and birds. The fact that a repellent action can be obtained through such a deodorizing effect was discovered for the first time by the present inventors, and can be said to be a different concept from the concept of action of conventional repellents.

Further, a second aspect of the present invention is characterized in that a sensory stimulant that stimulates the skin, mucous membranes, etc. that sense taste, odor, pain, etc. is used in combination with the above deodorant. The action of this sensory stimulant is to change the taste, odor, etc., or to stimulate the sense of touch, taste, smell, etc. on the skin, mucous membranes, etc., so that it directly causes the animal's five senses to feel abnormalities, and physiologically. It has a repellent effect. By combining the physiological repellent effect of this sensory stimulant and the mental/psychological repellent effect of the above-mentioned deodorant, a synergistic and remarkable repellent effect can be obtained that is greater than the repellent effect exerted by each alone. Its effects remain effective over a considerable period of time. Most of the conventional repellents can be said to utilize the physiological repellent effect of stimulating the sense of taste and smell of animals, but the physiological repellent effect of sensory stimulants and the mental/psychological repellent effect of deodorants are important. By combining the effects,
It was discovered for the first time by the present inventors that the repellent efficacy is greatly improved synergistically and the duration is extended.

Table 1 As shown in Table 1, when cats are placed with treated and untreated pet food, they immediately eat the untreated pet food, but do not approach the treated pet food at all and wait for the cat to eat the untreated pet food. They started eating together. For example, if a pet food No. 1 with 5g of test granule A sprinkled on it and untreated pet food are placed, the pet immediately eats the untreated pet food, but the pet that has been sprayed with 5g of test granule A immediately eats the untreated pet food. The animal did not approach the food at all and started eating after about 3 hours.

The test was conducted in the same manner as in Example 1, and the feeding status of the cats was observed. If the observation period exceeds 24 hours,
The animals were given 50 g of unprocessed bed food once a day to maintain their physical strength and to maintain a semi-starvation state. Note that observation is possible from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Observations were made visually at hourly intervals (every 30 minutes until 12 hours after placement) and recorded on video from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am. The results are shown in Table-2.

Table 3 As is clear from the above results, both test granules C and test granules are different from test granules A containing only a deodorant and test granules B containing only a sensory stimulant. In comparison, the repellent efficacy was significantly improved, and it was recognized that there was a synergistic effect when the deodorant and sensory stimulant were used together. It was also observed that the synergistic effect was greater in the case where a higher proportion of the sensory stimulant was used (test granules D).

2 As is clear from the above results, the product of the present invention was found to have a remarkable repellent effect against dogs. That is, when a drug treated with the repellent of the present invention and untreated dog food were placed, the dog immediately ate the untreated dog food, but did not approach the treated drug food at all, and started eating after a considerable amount of time had passed.

Example 5 There are about 15 places in a municipal garbage dump (collected twice a week) where about 10 stray cats always gather and use them as a place to live and live. There, 4 wild cats were constantly tearing open garbage bags and eating garbage. Therefore, one dose of the sample granule A was applied to the entire area.
When I sprayed 20g per dose, about 10 stray cats ran away, but about half of them came back in about an hour. Then, when 20 g of the above-mentioned sample granule per dose was sprayed in the same place, all the cats that came back ran away, and when observed every day thereafter, they did not come near at all for a week. Also, the bags of food waste that had been thrown away were not torn.

The test was repeated twice using the same pigeons, and the time taken until the pigeons started feeding was judged. Observations can be made from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The test was conducted every hour until 11:00 p.m. (starting from 8:00 p.m.). In addition, since pigeons usually eat 50 g of food at one time, the dose for the above-mentioned one test is always an amount that does not leave the pigeons full. The results are shown in Table-5.
