Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the visibility of an operator from lowering by superposing and viewing the transmitted image of a front glass, information from a display information source and the light of a multicolor caution lamp. CONSTITUTION:A combiner 1 is arranged on the inner side of the front glass 2 and the multicolor caution lamp 4 is set at a position where the visual field of landscape is not sacrificed within the range equal to or under the line of sight combining an eye E and a bonnet 3 below the back surface of the combiner 1. Meanwhile, an enlarged virtual image 8 is information obtained by an electronic shutter LCD 5, a light source 6, a Fresnel lens 7 and the combiner 1. Therefore, since the caution lamp 4 is viewed through the combiner 1, it is recognized without sacrificing the visual field. thus, the visibility of an operator is prevented from lowering.

No. 7212 (1973) and U.S. Patent No. 4218
It is known from Specification No. 11 (1980). One of the conventional HUDs put into practical use as a high-grade type for airplanes is equipped with a CRT 24 for displaying information and an optical system 25 for enlarging the displayed image of the CRT 24 in the dash board, as shown in Fig. 5. , a combiner 26 is provided on the top plate of the dash board to reflect the displayed image, and the display is generally a monochromatic blue-green color, and the idea of superimposing and displaying a red display such as a caution lamp using a combiner is not described. It has not been.

The one shown in Figure 4 is one that appeared for automobiles.
It is described in the iO-15422Ei publication. Multi-color information can be viewed by making one of the driving information display lights 18, 19 of a plurality of different colors incident on the combiner 15 at different predetermined angles using a reflector 22, 23. The combiner 15 is formed of a glass 16 and a transparent thin film 17 for selecting the wavelength of reflected light. In addition, 20.2
1 is a handle and a handle shaft. With this configuration, the driver can see the driving information superimposed on the outside scene 11.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the above prior art, the information display light 18
.. Since 19 is a multi-color display, its light wavelengths are different, and combiner 15 is designed to reflect both wavelengths well.
On the other hand, both wavelengths of landscape transmitted light are no longer transmitted, and the transmitted light is colored, which has the disadvantage of reducing visibility for the operator.

In view of the above-mentioned problems, the present invention uses the combiner's light wavelength selection special feature to provide a warning color such as "red" for half-door caution lamps, handbrake lamps, etc. without sacrificing the operator's field of vision. It is an object of the present invention to provide a HUD in which the warning color can be recognized as being superimposed on the scenery without impairing the brightness of the transmitted scenery.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to achieve the above object, the present invention has the following objectives: Conventional HUD information display colors such as "green light" are well reflected, and scenery transmitted light other than lines "red" and "blue" are well transmitted. Utilizing the characteristics of the combiner, a caution lamp display in red, blue, or a combination of these colors is placed below the back of the combiner in an area that does not sacrifice the driver's field of view, and the warning lamp is reflected through the combiner and reflected from the combiner. It is configured so that it can be viewed directly from the closest and farthest distance compared to conventional HUD information.

Effect: According to the above configuration, caution lamps such as a door ajar indicator lamp in an automobile and a closed door indicator lamp in a vehicle can be seen through the existing HUD combiner, so that they can be recognized without sacrificing the field of view or HUD information. Moreover, since the cockpit is located farthest from the pilot's eyes, there is no need to refocus the eyes when staring at the scenery, which reduces fatigue, similar to HUD information.

FIG. 3(a) shows a spectroscopic analysis when a green light source is used as the light source 6 in FIG. 1, for example. In this case, the reflection characteristics of the combiner 1 with respect to the wavelength are shown in (b), and the transmission characteristics with respect to the wavelength of landscape light are shown in (c). Looking at the transmission characteristics of (C), since B10nm r red or 4[ion m r blue] transmits well, it is possible to choose red and blue as the colors for the caution lamp placed at the bottom of the back of the combiner. It shows that it can be done.
