(Prior Art) For example, as disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 60-63716, a typical wall-mounted indoor unit generally adopts the equipment arrangement shown in FIG. 3. That is, a rectangular box-shaped case 1 that is relatively long from side to side has an inlet 4 at the upper front and an outlet 10 at the lower front, and the inlet 4 is provided inside the case 1.
A heat exchanger 2 is arranged opposite to the heat exchanger 2, and a cross-flow type blower fan 3 is arranged near the lower part of the back of the heat exchanger 2.
The front surface of the case 1 is covered with a front panel 5 having a suction grill 5a. In addition, a piping space 11 for arranging a piping system connected to the outdoor unit, a drain hose, etc. is provided between the blower fan 3 and the air outlet 10.
It is provided on the lower back side of the air passage 8 between the In some cases, indoor units are also seen in which piping space is secured below the air passage 8.

(Problems to be solved by the invention) In general, it is recommended that wall-mounted indoor units be installed on the upper wall surface of wall openings such as doors and windows where a large amount of heat enters and exits. However, in today's houses where the dimensions of wall openings are increasing and ceiling heights tend to be restricted, it is becoming difficult to secure wall space for installing indoor units at the recommended locations. With these changes in building conditions, there is a strong desire to downsize wall-mounted indoor units, especially to reduce their vertical dimensions. In a conventional indoor unit in which the outlet 10 and the piping space 11 are arranged in order in the vertical direction, even if each device is miniaturized to the practical limit, the vertical dimensions cannot be reduced below a certain level, and the above-mentioned downsizing request cannot be achieved. It was difficult to meet the requirements.

Incidentally, by reducing the vertical dimensions of the heat exchanger 3, which makes up the majority of the indoor unit, the overall vertical height can be relatively easily reduced, but in this case, a decrease in heat exchange efficiency cannot be avoided and energy conservation is There are disadvantages in achieving this goal. Furthermore, there is a concept of compensating for the decrease in the vertical dimensions of the heat exchanger 3 by increasing the horizontal width, but this method is difficult to be effective in that the area occupied at the time of installation cannot be reduced as much. In particular, in the case of wall-mounted indoor units, which are popular as home air conditioners,
In order to achieve visual harmony with the house or indoor furniture, it is required to keep the left and right width within a certain limit, and this also makes it difficult to reduce the vertical dimensions of indoor units. Ta.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In the present invention, based on the vertical dimensions of the heat exchanger 2, other devices are arranged so that they almost fall within the range of the vertical dimensions, and the air outlet 10 is By opening downward at the bottom of the indoor unit, the space needed to provide the air outlet 10 and piping space 11, which was required below the lower end of the suction port 4 in conventional indoor units, can be reduced. To reduce the vertical dimensions of an indoor unit by the amount equivalent to the reduced space.

(Function) As a result, in the present invention, among the devices that determine the vertical dimensions of the indoor unit, the blower fan 3, outlet 10, and piping space 11 are placed within the vertical dimension range based on the heat exchanger 2. Since it is arranged so that it almost fits, there is no air outlet 10 and piping space 1.
The vertical dimensions of the indoor unit can be reduced by the amount of space required to secure 1. At this time, the heat exchanger 2 itself does not require a change in size or a reduction in the occupied space, so its heat exchange ability can be maintained. In addition, due to the cooperation between the wind guiding surface 14 and the direction changing plate 13, the blowing air can also be supplied in the front horizontal direction. Nevertheless, the blowing air can be blown out over a wide range of direction.

The terminal end of the air passage 8 is opened downward at the bottom surface of the case 1 to form an air outlet 10, and the air outlet 10 is located adjacent to the lower end of the back surface of the heat exchanger 2. Further, a piping space 11 partitioned by a partition wall 7 is provided on the rear side of the air outlet 10. At this time, it is assumed that the piping space 11 does not protrude below the bottom surface of the case 1. Then, the blower fan 3 is arranged at a position shifted upward by the vertical height of the piping space 11 almost directly above the blower outlet 10. In other words,
At the rear of the heat exchanger 2, an outlet 10 and a piping space 11 are located on the bottom side of the case 1, and a suitable position of the blower fan 3 is determined based on the outlet 10 and the piping space 11.

With the above equipment arrangement, indoor air passes through the interior of the indoor unit at a substantially right angle and is blown downward. In order to blow out this blowing wind in the front horizontal direction of the aircraft, a deflection plate 1 is installed at the blowout port 10.
3 is attached. Further, a wind guide surface 14 is formed at the front edge of the air outlet 10. The direction changing plate 13 is supported so as to be swingable back and forth, and by changing its swinging posture, the direction of the blowing air can be changed. Further, the air guide surface 14 is formed of a large, smooth curved surface that easily induces the Coanda effect, extending from the middle part of the air guide wall 6 to the front edge of the bottom wall of the case 1. In this way, the direction change plate 1
If a wind guiding surface 14 is provided separately from the air guide surface 14 and the blown air is directed in the forward horizontal direction by the cooperation of the two, the deflection plate 13 can be made smaller.
It is possible to prevent the direction plate 13 from protruding significantly downward from the air outlet 10.

(Effects of the Invention) As explained above, according to the present invention, based on the vertical dimensions of the heat exchanger 2, the members etc. that determine the vertical dimensions of indoor units such as the blower fan 3 and the piping space 11 are The equipment is arranged so that it can fit almost within the vertical dimensions, and the air outlet 10 is opened at the bottom of the indoor unit, so compared to conventional indoor units, there is a considerable amount of space for the air outlet and piping space. Accordingly, the vertical dimensions of the indoor unit can be reduced and downsizing can be realized. As a result, even if the vertical height of the wall above the wall opening is small, the indoor unit can be installed at a suitable position for air conditioning and can function efficiently.

Furthermore, a deflection plate 13 is attached to the outlet 10, and a wind guide surface 14 that induces the Coanda effect is formed at the front edge of the outlet 10, so that the wind is directed downward by the cooperative action of both 13 and 14. Air outlet 10 to open
Since we have made it possible to sufficiently supply the air blown out from the unit to the front horizontal direction of the aircraft, the direction of the outflow air can be changed over a wide range, and the air blowing function is not impaired as an indoor unit. can be prevented.
