As shown in FIG. 1, it is roughly divided into five stages, Phases A to Phases E. That is, phase A is the preparation period before connecting the telephone line to the facsimile transmitter side, phase B is the control signal exchange period from the time the line is connected until the start of image information transmission, phase C is the image information transmission period, and phase D is the image information transmission period. Phase E, which is a control signal exchange period for the next process after information transmission, is a post-processing period after line disconnection.

Connected to E terminal. When a call is made from the receiving side in this state, the ring tone detection circuit (1) detects the ring tone signal sent from the receiving side, and uses the detection output to set the line switching circuit (2). The line changeover switch (S1) is switched to the (F) side and held.Thereby, the control signal exchange circuit (6>) in the facsimile signal processing circuit (3>) exchanges control signals with the receiving side. At this time, if the control signal is not exchanged correctly due to an incorrect operation or failure on the other party's side (receiving side), a defective telephone line, or a failure on the own side (sending side), the detection circuit (7) detects this. ) is detected, and the original ejection circuit (8) is operated based on the detection output. Then, when the ejection of the original is completed, the line switching circuit (2) is reset and the line selection switch (S,) is set to (T). At the same time, the original ejection circuit (8) switches the automatic/manual switching switch (S, > to the (M) side), thereby connecting the line to the telephone (9).

(5) is a hybrid circuit that separates a transmission signal and a reception signal, and (5) is an image signal sending circuit. Also, the one in Figure 3 is basically the same as the one in Figure 2, so corresponding parts in both are given the same figure number to avoid duplication of explanation. When the circuit (8) finishes discharging the original, the original transport circuit (10) operates.
After the next original is set in the reading position, the line switching circuit (2) is reset and the line switching switch (S1) is activated.
is returned to the (T) side. Also, at this time, the automatic/manual changeover switch (S2) is not reset (
A) side is held so that it can respond to the next transmission request. This type of facsimile device is disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 50-62509.

There are cases where this is not done correctly only between certain receiving stations. In such cases, the cause is usually an erroneous operation of that particular receiving station or a faulty telephone line between that particular station. Therefore, in this case, there is a possibility that the receiving side will operate normally if the receiving side tries the operation again, so it is desirable that the sending side also have a redo function.

Furthermore, even if control signals are not being sent and received normally with a particular receiving station, there is a possibility that communication with many other receiving stations will be carried out normally, and in this case as well, it is necessary to eject the original. If you do so, it will be inconvenient as mentioned above.

A detection means for detecting an error in the transmission and reception of a previous control signal, and in response to the error detection output of the detection means, maintains the set original in the same state, resets the switching means, and switches the telephone line to facsimile signal processing. The facsimile transmitter is equipped with a reset means for switching from the circuit side to the ring tone detection circuit side.

Fig. 4 shows a schematic configuration of the main parts of the facsimile transmitter of the present invention, and Fig. Corresponding parts will be briefly explained using the same drawing numbers. In other words, in the automatic transmission standby state, the line changeover switch (S,>4i(T) side is connected, and the automatic/manual changeover switch (S2 ) and (S.
) are all connected to the (A) side. When a call is made from the receiving side in this state, the switch (S1) is switched to the (F) side and control signals are exchanged, but this is exactly the same as in the case of the conventional example described above. At this time, if the detection circuit (7>) detects that the control signal was not properly exchanged, the detection output passes through the (A) side of the switch (S0>) and is sent to the reset circuit (1).
1>, thereby causing this reset circuit (11
) resets the line switching circuit (2>) and turns the switch (
S,) is returned to the (T) side. At this time, the document ejection circuit (8>) is not operated, so the document set in the reading position remains as it is, and the switches (St) (Ss) also remain connected to the (A) side, so the next transmission This means that requests can be responded to immediately.

As a result, the telephone line is connected to the telephone (9).In this state, the receiving party is notified through the telephone that the facsimile transmission will be performed, and then the switch (S,) is manually turned to (F). ) side, the facsimile transmission is started. At this time, if the detection circuit <7> detects an abnormality in the transmission and reception of the control signal described above, the detection output is sent to the (M) side of the switch (S.). >
Since the voltage is applied to the document ejection circuit (8>) through the side, the document set at the reading position is ejected, and at the same time, the switch (8) is activated in response to the operation of the document ejection circuit (8).
S,> is returned to the (T) side.

In addition, in the facsimile transmitter of the present invention, if you set a document and set it to automatic transmission mode, the transmitter will check whether the document has been ejected after a certain period of time and send the document to the receiving station. It is convenient because it has the advantage of being able to know whether or not image information has been transmitted.
