Abstract

PURPOSE:To reply a call in a proper form independently of the arrangement of ISDN terminal equipments of a called party and number of persons able to reply the call by applying call waiting display to an idle ISDN terminal equipment through the use of a busy B-channel and using an idle B-channel to call an idle ISDN terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:Suppose that an ISDN terminal equipment 4 is busy and other ISDN terminal equipments 5,6,7 are idle and when a call with a telephone num ber arrives, an ISDN terminal equipment 1 uses a B channel used by an ISDN terminal equipment 4 to interrupt the ISDN terminal equipment 4, which receives call waiting tone for the information of the arrival of another call and uses an idle B channel to call the ISDN terminal equipments 5,6,7. Succeedingly, the ISDN exchange 1 holds the call in talking when a subscriber in talking with the ISDN terminal equipment 4 sends a reply signal such as hooking and connects the new incoming call to stop the call to the ISDN terminal equipments 5,6,7.
