Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the quality control of an optical memory card having an optical recording layer without preventing the increase of a recording capacity by a method wherein the individual information of the card is indicated on the edge face of outer periphery of the card in the form of a variation in refrectance or irregularities. CONSTITUTION:On the edge face 3 of outer periphery of a substrate 1 of an optical memory card, individual information 4 of a card is indicated, such as a production lot number, an item number, a production data, and a maker name. This memory card can be obtained by a method in which an optical recording layer capable of being recorded by a laser beam is provided on a tracking groove surface of a laser beam-transmittable transparent resin substrate having a tracking groove, and this is laminated on the protective substrate with an adhesive. In this construction, a product quality control using an individual information indication is made possible; this indication cannot prevent the enlargement of a recording area and mar the appearance of the product.

別情報を製品に表示しても製品の外観を損ねることがな
い。
