Claims (1)
ランプからの放射光を液晶表示パネルに向けて反
射させるリフレクタとからなる光源とを備えた液
晶表示装置において、前記光源と液晶表示パネル
との間に、前記光源からの照射光のうちＰ偏光成
分の光を透過させ、Ｓ偏光成分の光は前記光源側
に反射させる偏光ビームスプリツタを配置すると
ともに、この偏光ビームスプリツタと前記光源と
の間に、透過光をほぼ４５°旋光させる旋光体を
