There is a phenomenon where it becomes thinner and breaks. When we actually manufactured a prototype metal halide lamp that combined tin halide and sodium halide, and conducted a life test, we found that the low temperature part of the electrode structure exposed inside the arc tube was exposed to light during the ladle time. As this phenomenon progresses throughout the life of the lamp, some lamps have their electrode structures broken due to erosion after several thousand hours of operation, resulting in wide variations in lamp life. In metal halide lamps that contain tin halide as one of the light-emitting metals, the electrode structure is more corroded by the halogen than when it does not contain tin, so there is a problem that the electrode structure can break. .

This includes metal halide lamps containing Dy, Ho, Trn), Tg, and Na. However, there was a point where these lamps with good life characteristics and high color temperature were not suitable as replacements for light bulbs.

This increases the efficiency of the lamp compared to the case without the multilayer interference film.
