Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain calculation of charge in an impartial and accurate way by calculating a communication charge in the unit of each document through the proportional distribution of an encoded quantity of each document with respect to a total communication time required for the communication of plural documents. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal read by an original read section 1 is sent to an encoder 2 as a signal (a) in the unit of one scanning line. The encoder 2 encodes the signal in the unit of one document under the control of a main control section 5 and the resulting signal is stored in a memory circuit 3 for documents A, B, C as a signal (b). Furthermore, total encoded quantities XA, XB, XC with respect to document A, B, C are stored in the main control section 5 as a signal (d). The document is sent from a memory circuit 3 to a communication control section 4 and sent to an opposite equipment.
