[Prior Art] As is well known, a mouse is a relative coordinate point input device that includes a plate with an optical reflective arm, a light source, and a light receiving circuit, and is widely used in workstations. When you slide the mouse on the board, the cursor on the CRT screen moves accordingly, but with conventional mice, the distance the cursor moves is proportional to the distance you slide the mouse. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] In the conventional mouse described above, the movement ratio of the mouse and cursor is constant and the movements of both are completely linked, so when moving a long distance, the mouse must be moved for a long distance. or
The disadvantage is that it is difficult to operate in tight spaces because you have to lift the mouse, return it to its original position, and move it again. [Means for Solving the Problems] The mouse of the present invention includes a movement direction detection unit that detects the movement direction of the mouse and generates direction data, and a continuous movement signal that generates a continuous movement signal to continue moving the cursor on the screen. a continuous movement signal generator, a cursor that receives the direction data and the continuous movement signal, continues to output the cursor movement signal even after the mouse stops, and stops the cursor movement signal when the continuous movement signal becomes invalid; It is characterized by having a movement signal generating section.

FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention, with FIG. 1(A) being a block diagram and FIG. 1(B) being a sketch. This embodiment includes a continuous movement signal generation switch 1, a movement direction detection section 2, a cursor movement signal generation section 3, a transmission data generation section 4, and a mouse body 5. When the mouse body 5 is slid on the board 6, the movement direction detection section 2 outputs direction data 102 indicating the direction in which the mouse body 5 moves. However, if the continuous movement signal generation switch 1 is not pressed, the continuous movement signal 101 is invalid, and the cursor movement signal generation section 3 does not generate continuous movement data 103. Therefore, as in the conventional case, the transmission data generation section 4 receives only the relative coordinate point data from the mouse body 5 and generates transmission data for moving the cursor on the screen. Now, when the continuous movement signal generation switch 1 is pressed, the continuous movement signal 101 becomes valid, and when it is released, it becomes invalid. The cursor movement signal generator 3 receives direction data 102 from the movement direction detector 2, and stores the direction at the moment when the continuous movement signal 101 becomes valid. As a result, even after the mouse has stopped, the transmission data generation unit 4
continues to send information as if the mouse were continuing to move in that direction, and stops when the continuous movement signal 101 becomes invalid. Figure 2 shows an example of the movement trajectory of the mouse and cursor. Move the mouse as shown in Figure 2 (A), press the continuous movement signal generation switch 1 at point a, stop the mouse at point b, and then press the continuous movement signal generation switch 1. When you press the continuous movement signal generation switch 1, the cursor on the CRT moves as shown in Figure 2 (B). FIG. 3 shows another embodiment of the present invention in which the seven causes of generation of the continuous movement signal 201 are when the continuous movement signal 201 is moved by a predetermined distance in a predetermined direction. 8. The distance direction detection unit 7 determines that the mouse has been moved a predetermined distance in a predetermined direction,
Enable continuous movement signal 104. At this time, direction data 102 is simultaneously sent to the cursor movement signal generator 8. Furthermore, when the distance/direction detection section 7 detects the inverse vector of the direction data 105, it invalidates the continuous movement signal 104. FIG. 4 shows an example of the movement trajectory of the mouse and cursor in the above-described embodiment. Even if you move the mouse in the A direction of Figure 4 (A) and stop outside the circle, the cursor on the CRT will continue to move as shown in Figure 4 (B), and if you move the mouse slightly back in the B direction, The cursor stops. [Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the present invention employs a configuration that allows the cursor to continue moving on the CRT even after the mouse has stopped, making it possible to use the mouse in narrow spaces. This has the effect of improving operability.
