Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a self-adhesive tape which necessitates no release paper and does not cause the transfer of the self-adhesive by embossing a hot-melt plastic film, subjecting the surface of the film to corona discharge treatment, and applying a self-adhesive to the treated surface. CONSTITUTION:A self-adhesive tape consisting of an embossed hot-melt plastic film and a self-adhesive provided on one side of said film is manufactured by embossing a hot-melt plastic film, subjecting the surface of the film to corona discharge treatment, and applying a self-adhesive to the treated surface. An example of the plastic film to be used is a polyethylene film. An example of the self-adhesive to be used is a rubber-base or acrylic self-adhesive.

(Prior Art) This type of adhesive tape 1O is generally provided in a meandering manner on a base material 1 such as felt, nonwoven fabric, hot melt film, etc., as shown in 1U:5!J and FIG. The adhesive tape is applied across the heated heater wire 2, etc., to fix the heater wire 2 to the base material L. Conventional adhesive tapes consist of a base made of nonwoven fabric or Japanese paper, and a hot melt adhesive provided on both sides of the base. This adhesive tape is wound into a roll with a release paper interposed in between. However, with this structure, the adhesive tape has poor workability and the release paper is difficult to peel because it is peeled off while pressing the release paper toward the adhesive surface. There were some flaws that remained behind.

For this reason, an adhesive tape has been proposed that is made of an embossed hot-melt plastic film and an adhesive provided on one side of the film. This adhesive tape has an embossed surface on its side, so when this adhesive tape is wound into a roll, the area of the bonding surface between the embossed surface and the adhesive layer will be smaller than the concave part of the embossment. Therefore, the bonding force between the two may be reduced, and therefore the need for release paper may be reduced.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) However, even with this structure, since the film is embossed, the adhesive may stick to the surface of the plastic film due to conditions such as tension when applying the adhesive and changes over time. There was a drawback that it would stick to the back. For this reason, while holding down the wire with the tape, the adhesive sticks to the front side and turns over, so each time the wire has to be cut and held in the opposite direction, the work is interrupted and work efficiency is low.

The object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing an adhesive tape which avoids the above-mentioned drawbacks and does not require a release paper and does not allow the adhesive to invert.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to solve the problems in item L, the present invention provides an adhesive tape consisting of a hot-melt plastic film having an embossed pattern and an adhesive provided on one side of the plastic film. In the manufacturing method, after a hot melt plastic film is embossed, the surface of the hot melt plastic film where the adhesive is to be provided is subjected to corona discharge treatment, and then the hot melt plastic film is subjected to corona discharge treatment. The present invention provides a method for producing an adhesive tape, which is characterized by adhering an adhesive to the applied surface.

In this way, when corona discharge treatment is applied to one side of an embossed adhesive tape, the adhesive sticks only to the roughened surface that has been treated with corona discharge treatment, making it difficult to emboss plastic films. In addition, the adhesive is reversed,
There is no possibility of peeling, and it is possible to reliably fix objects to be adhered, such as wires.

When the hot-melt plastic film 12 is subjected to such a corona discharge treatment, the surface 12a on which the adhesive 14 is to be provided becomes a rough surface as shown in FIG. Therefore, since the adhesive 14 adheres only to the one 12a that has undergone both embossing and corona discharge treatment, transfer and peeling of the adhesive 14 will not occur.

[Effects of the Invention] According to the present invention, as described above, after the plastic film is embossed, corona discharge treatment is applied to one side of the plastic film, so that the adhesive is applied only to the corona discharge treated side. Because it adheres to the surface, there is no transfer or peeling of the adhesive, so there is no need for release paper, and there is no flipping of the adhesive, making it possible to perform the work of fixing wires etc. with high work efficiency. There are some real benefits.
