Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of a sub-material such as a carrier tape, etc. and to simplify the process by executing automatically the process in which a strip-like polarizing plate with a separator which is cut at a prescribed angle from an original cloth roll is brought to cutting to a single polarized plate and stuck to a liquid crystal display element. CONSTITUTION:With respect to a strip-like polarizing plate 21 which is cut from original cloth, half-cut for making a cut line 28 successively at a prescribed pitch to the polarizing plate 21 body without cutting a separator 18 is executed, a single polarized plate 29 is formed by peeling off the polarizing plate body of the strip-like polarizing plate 21 which is brought to half-cut, from the separator 18, and the single polarizing plate 29 is transferred and stuck onto a liquid crystal display element 37. In such a case, the strip-like polarizing plate 21 which is taken out of a cassette part 22 and transferred holds its strip-like shape as it is even after it is brought to half-cut, therefore, the transfer to a separator peeling means and the processing for peeling off the single polarizing plate 29 from the separator 18 are executed easily, and sticking can be executed without causing a malfunction. In such a way, the material is inexpensive and the process can be simplified.

The Pt5S diagram shows single polarizing plates 1 cut to predetermined dimensions arranged on a carrier tape 2. This is an example where the carrier tape 2 itself is a separator and the single polarizing plate 1 does not have a separator. be. The carrier tape 2 is supplied from a supply reel 3 and is taken off onto a take-up bin 4 with a constant tension. It is peeled off from the carrier tape 2 at the top, adsorbed by the air chuck head 6, transferred onto the liquid crystal display element 8, and pasted onto the liquid crystal display element 8 by a pasting roller.

However, for example, in a 90° 1' N -FEM liquid crystal display element, the relationship between the viewing angle direction and the absorption axis of the polarizing plate is 4.
It is necessary to cut the linear polarizing plate at an angle of 5°, and a single polarizing plate cannot be cut out from the original roll 15 and used as is.

In addition, when using the carrier tape 2 for the separator shown in FIG. The cost is high, and the process of pasting is also required and time-consuming, which increases the cost. In addition, when using the adhesive carrier tape 9 shown in Pt56, a single polarizing plate 1 as shown in Pt58 is used.
1 may leave the separator 18 attached, but it requires an expensive adhesive carrier tape 9, and when it is transferred onto the tape, two individual polarizing plates 11 may be transferred at the same time, and the adhesive strength of the tape may deteriorate. There is a problem in that troubles such as the transfer not being carried out normally due to a lack of fuel are likely to occur.

This VCR! ! The polarizing plates handled by are strip-shaped pieces cut from the original film, and can be obtained by appropriately selecting the cutting angle! The B-product polarizing plate is cut at a predetermined angle corresponding to the absorption axis of the polarizing plate. In addition, the rectangular polarizing plate that is taken out from the cassette section and transported retains its short shape even after being half-cut, so it can be transported to the separator peeling means and processed to peel the single polarizing plate from the separator. It is easy to paste and can be pasted without malfunction.

21 is a rectangular polarizing plate with a separator cut out from the original fabric roll 15 at an angle of 45° with respect to the absorption axis as shown in Fig. Pt54, and about several hundred polarizing plates are stored in the cassette 22 in a stacked manner. 23 is an air chuck mechanism that adsorbs the polarized light strips [21] from the cassette 22, takes them out one by one, and transfers them onto the transfer table 24; 25 is a feed pitch control roller; Driven by a motor, the strip-shaped polarizing plate 21 transferred onto the transfer table 24 is transferred with a constant pinch using a presser. 2
6 is a half-cut press, and 27 is a half-cut press, which is designed to prevent the separator 18 from cutting off the strip-shaped polarizing plate 21 that has been transferred at a constant pitch, and to cut the polarizing plate itself. 16, cuts are sequentially made at a constant pitch to completely cut. FIG. 3 shows an example of a strip-shaped polarizing plate 21 that has been half-cut halfway, and 28 shows the cut end of the half-cut portion, and 29 shows a single polarizing plate after being cut to a predetermined size.

<Effects of the Invention> As is clear from the above-mentioned embodiments, the automatic polarizing plate pasting device of the present invention can convert IJslIIl)-shaped polarizing plates with separators cut out at a predetermined angle from an original roll into a single polarizing plate. The process from cutting to pasting on the liquid crystal display element is performed automatically, and there is no need for auxiliary materials such as carrier tape as in the past, so there is no need for any auxiliary materials such as carrier tape, which can occur during transfer to the carrier tape. This eliminates common troubles, greatly reduces the number of processes that require manual labor, and simplifies the process, making it easier to reduce costs and stabilize quality.
