Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance safety, stability and the long acting property of effect, by using the saponin-containing extracted component, which is obtained by applying extraction treatment to the underground part of Ruscus aculeatus L. using an extraction solvent such as water, a hydrophilic org. solvent or water-containing hydrophilic org. solvent, as an effective component. CONSTITUTION:The underground part of Ruscus aculeatus L. is immersed in an about 5-20 time amount of water or a hydrophilic org. solvent such as methanol, ethanol or acetone or a mixture of both of them and pref. heated to about 40-80 deg.C. Saponin extracted by this method is used as an effective component of a deodorant. If necessary, purifying treatment such as the removal of a precipitate, decoloring treatment by activated carbon, treatment by a synthetic polymer adsorbent or the like is applied to the extract and the extraction solvent is distilled off and dried to obtain a saponin-containing extract having deodorizing function.

Conventionally, typical deodorizing agents include those that have a deodorizing effect by adsorbing malodorous components, such as activated carbon and cyclodextrin, and those that utilize the masking effect of aromatic components. In recent years, various plants (
For example, it has been reported that extracts from plants of the Camellia family such as camellia and tea have a deodorizing effect, but their active ingredients are tannin compounds, which react with iron ions to develop color or react with proteins to precipitate. Due to its high reactivity, the deodorizing effect tends to decrease and its uses are limited.

The present invention, which has succeeded in achieving the above object, uses water, a hydrophilic organic solvent, or a water-containing hydrophilic organic solvent as an extraction solvent to extract Ruscus acnes, a plant belonging to the Liliaceae family.
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a deodorizing agent containing as an active ingredient a saponin-containing extract obtained by extracting the underground part of P. xtus L.).

) or K++!e-Holly is an evergreen shrub that grows mainly in the Mediterranean and North America, and the extract from its underground part has diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is known. This extract contains several types of saponins, including ruscogenin as an aglycone, and it has also been reported that this extract has anti-inflammatory effects. However, there is no report that a saponin-containing extract of Nagiikada has a deodorizing effect.
