Conventional gas appliances equipped with a main burner and a constant flame burner, such as a water heater, have a constant flame burner that is lit when the constant flame burner is lit and water is being passed through, since the main burner is lit. The burners will not blow out, but when the water flow is stopped, the main burner will be extinguished and only the permanent burners will be lit, so the permanent burners may blow out due to wind, etc. If this blow-out condition is left unchecked, raw gas will be released, which is dangerous. In order to eliminate this danger, the inventors of this application, etc., during development,
A flame detection circuit detects a blowout, that is, a misfire, of a normally lit burner, and the misfire signal drives an ignition circuit to ignite the normally lit burner again, thereby preventing the release of raw gas after a misfire. I devised a new device that uses a battery as the power source for the ignition circuit, and when the burner is lit, current is always passed through the connection circuit between the battery and the ignition circuit in case the burner misfires. In this case, even during the ignition of the main burner, when there is no risk of a misfire in the normally lit burner, current flows through the connected circuit, causing the inconvenience of consuming the battery.

FIGS. 1 and 2 show an example in which a water heater is used as a gas appliance, and the ignition circuit 4 includes a blocking oscillator 9, a capacitor 10 charged by the output of the blocking oscillator 9, and A Schottley diode 11 that becomes conductive when the charging voltage of the capacitor 10 reaches a predetermined value, an ignition transformer 12 connected in series to the Schockley diode 11 that generates a high voltage, and a high voltage generated from the ignition transformer 12. It consists of discharge electrodes 13, 13 that generate spark discharge in response to voltage, and is connected to the power source battery 3 via an ignition switch 14 which is closed by pressing a push button 24a to the terminal position, which will be described later.

Thus, when the ignition switch 14 is closed, no current flows through the flame rod 15 and the transistor 16 is closed during the ignition operation of the normally lit burner 2 and during a misfire.
OFF, the transistor 9a of the blocking oscillator 9 is repeatedly turned ON and OFF to oscillate, a spark discharge is obtained between the discharge electrodes 13, 13, the permanent burner 2 is ignited or re-ignited, and the permanent burner 2 is ignited or re-ignited. During the ignition of No. 2, a current flows through the flame rod 15, turning on the transistor 16, and the transistor 9a of the blocking oscillator 9 remains off, causing no oscillation, and no spark discharge occurs between the discharge electrodes 13, 13.

In the control circuit of FIG. 1, the ignition circuit 4 is driven in addition to the ignition circuit 4 which is connected to the power supply battery 3 via the ignition switch 14 which is closed in its terminal position in conjunction with the push button 24a. After ignition is applied to the normally lit burner 2 via the ignition burner 27, it is heated by the normally lit burner 2, and after a certain period of time, a predetermined electromotive force is generated to excite the solenoid 31 of the safety valve 22. The electric charge charged by the power supply battery 3 is discharged through a thermocouple 32 that attracts and holds the safety valve 22 in an open state, and a changeover switch 33 that switches to the solenoid 31 side when the push button 24a is pressed beyond the intermediate position. A capacitor 34 is provided to energize the solenoid 31 and hold the safety valve 22 open for the predetermined period of time.

Next, to explain the operation, when the push button 24a is pressed, the cutoff valve 21 opens at the intermediate position, and then the safety valve 22 and the ignition valve 23 open at the terminal position, and the ignition switch 14 closes. The constant ignition circuit 4 is activated to provide ignition of the normally lit burner 2 via the ignition burner 27. After ignition, the push button 24a is released; at this time, the push button 24a
is restrained at an intermediate position, the capacitor 34 is discharged, and the safety valve 22 is kept open for a certain period of time, and after a certain period of time, the safety valve 22 is kept open by a predetermined electromotive force of the thermocouple 32, and a constant fire occurs. Ignition of burner 2 continues.

During the ignition of the normally lit burner 2 up to this point, current flows through the connection circuit 6 between the power supply battery 3 and the ignition circuit 4 in case of a misfire. When water is subsequently passed through, the automatic valve that constitutes the gas valve 7 is opened, and the main burner 1 is ignited via the normally lit burner 2, and the switch 8 is opened and the power source battery 3 is turned on. It is disconnected from the ignition circuit 4, and consumption of the power battery 3 is prevented.

In the one shown in the second figure, the gas valve 7 is configured as an automatic valve that is opened in conjunction with the hydraulic response member 17 when water flows through it, but the invention is not limited to this. For example, as shown in the third figure, a gas appliance When used as a bath kettle,

In this way, according to the present invention, the ignition circuit 4 connected to the power source battery 3 is driven by a misfire signal from the flame detection circuit 5 that detects the flame of the normally lit burner 2, and the ignition circuit 4 connected to the power source battery 3 is The ignition circuit 4
A switch 8, which opens in conjunction with the opening operation of the gas valve 7 for the main burner 1, is connected in series to the connection circuit 6, so that when the normally lit burner 2 misfires, the ignition circuit 4 is driven to re-ignite it. In the case where the power source battery 3 can be disconnected from the ignition circuit 4 during the ignition of the main burner 1 without causing the normally lit burner 2 to blow out, the power source battery 3 can be disconnected from the ignition circuit 4. It has the effect of suppressing the consumption of 3 as much as possible.
