Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent mis-setting and to facilitate the processing by attaining automatic execution of self-address setting of a communication controller in the connection of a terminal equipment to a home bus and also eliminating the need for the operation relating to the setting of the self-address even in the re-starting after power of the home bus is interrupted once. CONSTITUTION:A communication controller 1 sends sequentially a dummy packet of its own address to a home bus 2 when it is connected to the home bus and the operation is started and the address at the point of time of no reply is used as its own address and stored in a self-address storage section 9 to eliminate the need for setting the artificial self-address. Moreover, since a self-address storage section 9 stores a value even when a power supply is interrupted, a value read by an address identification processing section 8 at restarting is not the initial setting value but the value set as its own address already, the resetting processing of the address is not required. Thus, the processing to connect the terminal equipment 3 to the home bus 2 is facilitated and the danger of mis-setting is avoided.

Next, referring to FIG. 2, a case will be described in which a home lot system is constructed using a communication control device having this configuration. If the terminal device 22b and the terminal device 23b are already connected to the home bus 2 by the communication control device 22& and the communication control device 232L, the terminal device 21b with the communication control device 21& is newly connected to the home bus 2. When attempting to do so, it is necessary to set the self-address of the communication control device 212L so that it does not overlap with the self-address of the communication control device 22 & and the communication control device 231L that have already been set. For this reason, the installer had to manage the settings of the communication control devices 22+a and 232L that had already been installed, or reconfirm the settings of the communication control devices 222L and 23a.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a self-address value group storage section for storing a plurality of self-address values in a communication control device, and a method for storing the contents even when the power is cut off. In addition to providing an indelible and rewritable self-address storage section, and an address identification processing section that automatically identifies the self-address based on the values of the self-address value group storage section and the self-address storage section, the address This allows terminal equipment to be easily connected to the home bus without any consideration.

Reference numeral 7 denotes a self-address value group storage section which stores all self-address values that the terminal device 3 can take. The address identification processing unit 8 can read values from the self address value group storage unit 7. The self-address storage unit 9 is a storage medium that can be read from and written to by the address identification processing unit 8 and that retains the stored contents even when the power is turned off, such as EE.
It is composed of FROM, NOVROM; jz, etc. A fixed initial value is stored in the self-address storage section until the communication control device 1 and the terminal device 3 are connected to the home bus and start operating.

Next, the operation will be explained. In FIG. 2, the communication control device 22 already has its own address "8o" on the home bus 2.

For example, the possible self-address of the terminal device 21b is 8o''
' to "83", four values from "P80'" to "83" are stored in the self-address value group storage section in FIG. When the terminal device 21b is connected to the home bus 2 and the communication control device 21!L is activated, the address identification processing section 8 first reads out the stored value from the self-address storage section 9. Since the initial setting value is initially stored, the address identification processing section 8 reads out the value of '80'' from the self-address value group storage section 7, and the communication control device 212L outputs the value on the home bus 2. Sends a dummy packet 31 with the destination address ``80''.Here, the communication control device 221L responds (ACjK or NACK) 3 because the packet is addressed to itself.
Returns 2. Upon receiving the response, the communication control device 21 & reads the next value It 811+ from the own address value group storage section 7 via the address identification processing section 8 and transmits the dummy packet 33 with the destination address "81" onto the home bus 2. . Here, since the packet is addressed to the communication control device 23 & itself, a response (ACK-i is NAOK) 34 is returned.

The communication control device 21&, which has received the response, further reads the next value "82" from the self-address value group storage section 7 via the address identification processing section 8, and stores the dummy packet 34 with the partner address "'82" on the home bus 2. If the communication control device with the self-address II 8211 is not connected to the home bus 2, it will not return a response to the dummy packet 34, resulting in no response 36. Here, the address identification processing unit 8 will send the self-address "82" as the self-address. ” by writing the value in the self-address storage section 9, the communication control device 21
1L's own address is automatically set to "82". When the communication control device is connected to the home bus and starts operating, it sequentially transmits dummy packets to be used as its own address onto the home bus 2, and when there is no response, the communication control device sets the address as its own address and sends it to the self-address setting section 9. By storing the address, there is no need to manually set the self-address.

Furthermore, since the self-address storage section stores the value even if the power is cut off, the value read by the address identification processing section 8 when restarted is not the initial setting value but the value of the address identification processing section 8 that has already been set as the self-address. ”, so there is no need for address resetting processing.

Effects of the Invention As described above, in the present invention, it is possible to automatically set the self-address of the communication control device when connecting a terminal device to the home bus, and also to automatically set the self-address of the communication control device when connecting a terminal device to the home bus. Even when the system is restarted, no operation is required to set its own address.
