Description
断面三角形状である第1螺旋溝は、第3シール部材における駆動軸とのシール面に形成され、ギア室内の圧力が上昇した場合に、ギア室内の流体をモータ室内に排出するための第1螺旋溝として好適である。
断面三角形状である第2螺旋溝は、駆動軸における第3シール部材との摺動面に形成され、ギア室内の圧力が上昇した場合に、ギア室内の流体をモータ室内に排出するための第2螺旋溝として好適である。
これによれば、第3シール部材の透過性が、第1シール部材の透過性及び第2シール部材の透過性よりも高いため、第3シール部材によるギア室とモータ室との間のシール性を、ギア室とロータ室との間の第1シール部材及び第2シール部材のいずれのシール性よりも低くすることができる。
電動ポンプ10の運転が開始されて、電動モータ22の駆動によって駆動軸16が回転すると、互いに噛合された駆動ギア18及び従動ギア19のギア連結を介して従動軸17が駆動軸16に対して逆回転する。これにより、駆動ロータ20及び従動ロータ21が互いに逆回転し、電動ポンプ10は、駆動ロータ20及び従動ロータ21の回転によって、吸入口26を介したロータ室25への水素ガスの吸入、及び吐出口27を介したロータ室25からの水素ガスの吐出を行う。
(1)第3シール部材52によるギア室24とモータ室23との間のシール性が、ギア室24とロータ室25との間の第1シール部材32及び第2シール部材42のいずれのシール性よりも低いため、ギア室24内の圧力が上昇した場合に、ギア室24内の流体が、ロータ室25内よりもモータ23室内に洩れ易くなる。そして、ギア室24内の流体がモータ室23内に洩れることにより、ギア室24内の圧力の上昇を抑えることができる。よって、ギア室24内とモータ室23内との圧力差を小さくすることができ、第3シール部材52における駆動軸16に対する緊迫力が増大してしまうことを抑制することができる。その結果、第3シール部材52と駆動軸16との間で摩耗が生じ難くなり、第3シール部材52の耐久性が向上する。そして、ギア室24内の圧力の上昇を抑えることができるため、ギア室24内のオイルがロータ室25内に洩れてしまうことを抑制することができる。以上により、ギア室24内のオイルがロータ室25内に洩れてしまうことを抑制しつつも、電動ポンプ10の信頼性を向上させることができる。

○ 実施形態において、電動ポンプ10は、燃料電池に水素ガスを供給する燃料電池用水素ポンプでなくてもよく、その他の用途で用いられるものであってもよい。要は、ロータ室25に吸入される流体は水素ガスに限らない。

前記駆動軸を回転させる電動モータと、
前記駆動ギア及び前記従動ギアを収容するとともに前記駆動ギア及び前記従動ギアに供給されるオイルが封入されたギア室、前記駆動ロータ及び前記従動ロータを収容するロータ室、及び前記電動モータを収容するモータ室を有するハウジングと、を備え、
前記モータ室、前記ギア室、及び前記ロータ室は、前記駆動軸の回転軸線方向においてこの順に並んで配置されており、
前記ハウジングは、前記ギア室と前記ロータ室とを隔てる第1隔壁と、前記ギア室と前記モータ室とを隔てる第2隔壁と、を有し、

- 前記第3シール部材における前記第3貫通孔に対する前記駆動軸の回転軸線方向の投影面積は、前記第1シール部材における前記第1貫通孔に対する前記回転軸線方向の投影面積及び前記第2シール部材における前記第2貫通孔に対する前記回転軸線方向の投影面積よりも大きく、且つ、前記第3シール部材の厚みは、前記第1シール部材の厚み及び前記第2シール部材の厚みよりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項1~請求項6のいずれか一項に記載の電動ポンプ。
- 前記第3シール部材の透過性が、前記第1シール部材の透過性及び前記第2シール部材の透過性よりも高いことを特徴とする請求項1~請求項7のいずれか一項に記載の電動ポンプ。
- 前記ハウジングには、前記モータ室内と外部とを繋ぐ放出通路が設けられており、
前記放出通路には、前記モータ室内から前記外部へ流体を排出する弁体が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1~請求項8のいずれか一項に記載の電動ポンプ。
