Description
The present invention relates to a solid cosmetic product.
A solid cosmetic is a cosmetic that is solid at room temperature. Solid cosmetic products are used as cosmetics by applying them to the skin or hair. Known examples of solid cosmetic products include stick-shaped lipstick, gloss, stick foundation, pencil-type cosmetic products, and hair sticks, as well as container-filled lip balms and foundations.
Solid cosmetics are required to maintain their formulation during storage, while at the same time providing a melting feel when applied, good spreadability, and the ability to apply the cosmetics evenly to the area to be applied (hereinafter referred to as "usage feel during application"). They are also required to provide the desired effects, such as gloss, feel, suppleness, and moisture to the skin or hair to which they are applied (hereinafter referred to as "aesthetic effect"). In order to satisfy these characteristics, solid cosmetics are being studied for the selection of solid wax and liquid oil as bases, adjustment of the blending ratio, and the use of various additives. For example, solid wax must be blended in sufficient amounts to maintain the product's formulation, but if the amount of solid wax blended is too high, the usability during application and aesthetic effect are reduced. These effects vary greatly depending on the selection and blending amounts of solid wax and liquid oil, so various combinations of solid wax and liquid oil and blending amounts are being studied in the development of solid cosmetics (for example, Patent Documents 1 to 3).
The present invention has been made in light of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to provide a solid cosmetic product that satisfies the feel when applied and the aesthetic effect. In addition to these effects, the present invention also aims to provide a solid cosmetic product that has the longevity of the aesthetic effect of the solid cosmetic product (hereinafter referred to as "sustained aesthetic effect").
The solid cosmetic of the present invention, which has been able to solve the above problems, is characterized by the fact that it contains [1] (A) ceresin, (B) a synthetic wax, and (C) a di-fatty acid glyceryl and/or a tri-fatty acid glyceryl having an IOB value of 0.18 to 0.45.
A preferred embodiment of the solid cosmetic of the present invention is the solid cosmetic described in [1] above, in which the mass ratio of the component (A) to the component (B) [(A):(B)] is 9:1 to 1:8.
Another preferred embodiment of the solid cosmetic of the present invention is the solid cosmetic described in [1] or [2] above, in which the content of the (A) component contained in the solid cosmetic is 1 to 9% by mass, the content of the (B) component is 1 to 10% by mass, and the content of the (C) component is 10 to 70% by mass.
Another preferred embodiment of the solid cosmetic of the present invention is the solid cosmetic described in any one of [1] to [3] above, [4] further containing (D) dimer dilinoleic acid ester and/or (E) diisostearate propanediol.
The present invention also includes the solid cosmetic described in any one of [1] to [4] above, which is used by applying the solid cosmetic to the palm of the hand and then to the hair or skin.
The present invention can provide a solid cosmetic product that satisfies the feel when applied and the aesthetic effect. Furthermore, the present invention can provide a solid cosmetic product that has excellent durability of aesthetic effect.
In recent years, solid cosmetics have been studied not only for application to skin such as lips and cheeks, but also for application to hair as hair sticks. The present inventors therefore investigated whether the composition of solid cosmetics conventionally provided for skin could be adapted for use on hair. However, compared to skin, the conditions of use for hair are stricter, and sufficient effects were not achieved. For example, hair cosmetics do not contain colorants such as pigments, as in lipsticks, and therefore additives cannot be used to improve aesthetic effects. In addition, hair needs to be kept neat and tidy, which is not considered for use on skin. Due to these differences, even if solid cosmetics conventionally considered for skin are adapted for use on hair, the feel when applied and the aesthetic effects cannot be satisfied. Furthermore, cosmetics are reapplied less frequently to hair than to skin such as lips, and it is desirable for the aesthetic effects to last for a long time with a single application.
The inventors of the present invention have conducted extensive research to solve these problems, and as a result have invented a solid cosmetic product that is suitable for not only the skin but also hair by combining a specific solid wax with a specific liquid oil, specifically a solid cosmetic product that has an excellent feel when applied and an excellent aesthetic effect, and preferably also has excellent long-lasting aesthetic effects.
The solid cosmetic preparation of the present invention, which has been able to solve the above problems, contains the following components (A) to (C) as essential components.
Component (A): ceresin Component (B): synthetic wax Component (C): di- and/or tri-fatty acid glyceryl having an IOB value of 0.18 to 0.45
The solid cosmetic of the present invention achieves the above effects by using the above three components as essential components. Ceresin is a hydrocarbon wax derived from a mineral (ozokerite), and has properties such as a higher viscosity, hardness, and melting point than waxes obtained by refining petroleum such as paraffin and waxes derived from natural plants. However, when ceresin alone was used as a solid wax, there was no difference in effect compared to other solid waxes such as paraffin. Similarly, when ceresin was combined with other solid waxes, there was no difference in effect. However, when (A) ceresin was used in combination with (B) a synthetic wax and further combined with (C) a specific liquid oil, the synergistic effect of these significantly improved the feel when applied and the aesthetic effect, and further improved the durability of the aesthetic effect. In other words, the present invention can achieve the feel when applied, the aesthetic effect, and the durability thereof that could not be obtained with conventional solid cosmetic products only when the specific components (A) to (C) are used as essential components. In particular, the solid cosmetic of the present invention not only achieves the above effects on hair that could not be obtained with conventional solid cosmetic products, but also achieves the same effects on skin such as lips. Each component of the solid cosmetic preparation of the present invention is described in detail below.
Component (A): Ceresin Ceresin is a hydrocarbon wax obtained by refining ozokerite (mineral), and is an oily component that is solid at room temperature. In the present invention, the use of ceresin in combination with components (B) and (C) described below can significantly improve the feel when applied, the aesthetic effect, and the duration of the aesthetic effect. In the present invention, ceresin for various cosmetics can be used, and ceresin having a melting point of 60°C or higher, more preferably 70°C or higher, can be used. Examples of commercially available products include CERESIN #810 (manufactured by Nikko Rica Corporation), CERESIN #820 (manufactured by Nikko Rica Corporation), and CERESIN C (manufactured by Nikko Rica Corporation), but are not limited thereto. One type of ceresin or a combination of two or more types of ceresin can be used.
Inclusion of ceresin, which is component (A), together with components (B) and (C) suppresses the softening of the solid cosmetic, contributes to the shape retention of the formulation, and improves the various effects described above. On the other hand, if the ceresin content is too high, the spreadability and application comfort of the solid cosmetic may deteriorate when applied, resulting in a decrease in the feel when applied, and the various effects described above may also decrease. From this perspective, the content of ceresin (the total amount when two or more types are used in combination) is preferably 1% by mass or more, more preferably 2% by mass or more, and even more preferably 4% by mass or more, relative to the total amount of the solid cosmetic (100% by mass), and is preferably 9% by mass or less, more preferably 7% by mass or less, and even more preferably 5.5% by mass or less.
Component (B): Synthetic wax In the present invention, the synthetic wax is a hydrocarbon-based synthetic wax. In the present invention, synthetic waxes for various cosmetic materials can be used, and preferably have a melting point of 80° C. or higher, more preferably 90° C. or higher. Examples of synthetic waxes include homopolymers such as Fischer-Tropsch wax, polyethylene wax, and polypropylene wax; and copolymers such as (ethylene/propylene) copolymer wax. The synthetic wax is preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of Fischer-Tropsch wax, polyethylene wax, polypropylene wax, and (ethylene/propylene) copolymer wax. Examples of commercially available products include, but are not limited to, LIPWAX A-4 (manufactured by Nippon Natural Products Co., Ltd.), LIPWAX PZ80-20 (manufactured by Nippon Natural Products Co., Ltd.), TITANEL (manufactured by SASOL Co., Ltd.), EXP 1583 (manufactured by SASOL Co., Ltd.), SANWAX 151-P (manufactured by Sanyo Chemical Industries, Ltd.), SANWAX 171-P (manufactured by Sanyo Chemical Industries, Ltd.), and Performalene 655 Polyethylene (manufactured by New Phase Technology Co., Ltd.). In the present invention, one type of synthetic wax can be used, or two or more types of synthetic waxes can be used in combination.
By including the synthetic wax (B) in addition to the components (A) and (C), it is possible to inhibit the softening of the solid cosmetic, improve the shape retention of the dosage form, and further improve the various effects mentioned above. On the other hand, if the synthetic wax content is too high, the spreadability and application comfort of the solid cosmetic may deteriorate when applied, and the usability during application may decrease, and the various effects mentioned above may also decrease. From this perspective, the content of the synthetic wax (the total amount when two or more types are used in combination) is preferably 1% by mass or more, more preferably 2% by mass or more, and even more preferably 5% by mass or more, relative to the total amount of the solid cosmetic (100% by mass), and is preferably 10% by mass or less, more preferably 8% by mass or less, and even more preferably 6% by mass or less.
Mass ratio of component (A) to component (B) In the present invention, it is preferable to adjust the mass ratio of ceresin (A) to synthetic wax (B). If the mass ratio of ceresin (A) to synthetic wax (B) is too large, the formulation is easily broken down, the melting feeling of application is reduced, the application comfort is deteriorated, the feeling of use during application is deteriorated, and the aesthetic effect and the duration of the aesthetic effect may also be reduced. On the other hand, if the mass ratio of synthetic wax (B) to ceresin (A) is too large, the cosmetic becomes hard, giving the feeling of applying the cosmetic while applying it by applying force, and the feeling of use during application is deteriorated, and the aesthetic effect and the duration of the aesthetic effect may also be reduced. From this viewpoint, the mass ratio of component (A) to component (B) is preferably 9:1 to 1:8, more preferably 5.3:1 to 1:3.7, and even more preferably 1.7:1 to 1:1.7.
Component (C): Di- and/or tri-fatty acid glyceryl having an IOB value of 0.18 to 0.45 (sometimes referred to as "di- or tri-fatty acid glyceryl")
In the present invention, the IOB value (Inorganic Organic Balance) is a value that represents the ratio of the inorganic value to the organic value of an organic compound (inorganic/organic ratio), and is an index that indicates the degree of polarity of an organic compound. The IOB value is defined by "Organic Conceptual Diagram" (Fujita Atsushi), and details are explained in "Fragrance Journal" vol. 17 (No. 4) pp. 29-38 (1989); "Approach to Emulsion Formula Design" and "Ingredients Collection for Organic Conceptual Diagram" published by Nippon Emulsion Co., Ltd. in September 2009; "Organic Conceptual Diagram - Basics and Applications" by Koda Yoshio, Sankyo Publishing Co., Ltd., published in 1984, pp. 11-17, etc. The organic value and inorganic value of a compound can be calculated by adding up the values that are predetermined for each group of the compound for the entire molecule. For the organic value and inorganic value, the values listed in "Ingredients Collection for Organic Conceptual Diagram" may be used, for example.
In the present invention, di- and tri-fatty acid glyceryls are diesters and triesters of fatty acids and glycerin. In the present invention, the effect of improving the feeling of use during application, the aesthetic effect, and the durability of the aesthetic effect can be obtained only when the above-mentioned components (A) and (B) are combined with component (C). If a di- or tri-fatty acid glyceryl is used with an IOB value that is too low, the application feeling becomes too light and the melting feel and spreadability cannot be obtained, resulting in a poor feeling of use during application. If a di- or tri-fatty acid glyceryl is used with an IOB value that is too high, the cosmetic material will feel like it is being broken down by force during application, and the melting feel of the cosmetic material will not be obtained, and the uniform adhesion of the cosmetic material to the skin and the manageability of the hair will also be deteriorated. Therefore, the IOB value of di- or tri-fatty acid glyceryl is 0.18 or more, preferably 0.2 or more, more preferably 0.23 or more, and even more preferably 0.25 or more, and 0.45 or less, preferably 0.43 or less, more preferably 0.40 or less, and even more preferably 0.38 or less.
In the present invention, any di- or tri-fatty acid glyceryl that satisfies the above IOB value can be used, and one or more types can be used in combination. Preferred examples of di- or tri-fatty acid glyceryl with an IOB value of 0.18 to 0.45 include tri(caprylic/capric)glyceryl [IOB value: 0.33], PEG-3 glyceryl triisostearate [IOB value: 0.20], tricaprylin (glyceryl tricaprylate) [IOB value: 0.33], triethylhexanoin (glyceryl tri-2-ethylhexanoate) [IOB value: 0.35], glyceryl diisostearate [IOB value: 0.29], etc. Any commercially available product that satisfies the IOB value can be used, such as MYRITOL 318 (manufactured by BASF), NIKKOL Triester F-810 (manufactured by Nikko Chemicals), EMALEX GWIS-303 (manufactured by Nippon Emulsion Co., Ltd.), PANACET 800 (manufactured by NOF Corp.), PANACET 800B (manufactured by NOF Corp.), T.I.O (manufactured by Nisshin Oillio Co., Ltd.), and SAN OIL GDI-D (manufactured by Taiyo Kagaku Co., Ltd.). When two or more (C) components are used in combination, it is sufficient that the IOB value of each (C) component satisfies the above range.
The above effects can be further improved by increasing the content of component (C) together with components (A) and (B). The content of component (C) (the total amount when two or more types are used in combination) is preferably 10% by mass or more, more preferably 20% by mass or more, even more preferably 30% by mass or more, relative to the total amount of the solid cosmetic (100% by mass), and is preferably 70% by mass or less, more preferably 60% by mass or less, even more preferably 55% by mass or less.
The solid cosmetic of the present invention may contain the above-mentioned components (A), (B), and (C) as essential components. The appropriate range of the content of the above-mentioned components (A) to (C) is the same even when other components are contained. In addition to the above-mentioned essential components, the solid cosmetic of the present invention preferably contains at least one selected from the group consisting of the following components (D) to (G) as necessary, since the effects of each component are more excellent. The solid cosmetic contains the above-mentioned essential components and various additives added as necessary, and the remainder is oils and fats other than the above-mentioned components. The content of each of the above-mentioned components of the present invention may be appropriately adjusted so as to fall within the above-mentioned range. The oils and fats forming the remainder are not particularly limited, and various known oils and fats such as ester oils used in solid cosmetics can be used. Examples of ester oils include, but are not limited to, cholesterol fatty acid esters, diisostearyl malate, isopropyl myristate, cetyl 2-ethylhexanoate, isopropyl palmitate, ethylhexyl palmitate, neopentyl glycol dicaprate, polyglyceryl triisostearate, dipentaerythrityl tetra(hydroxystearate/isostearate), neopentyl glycol di-2-ethylhexanoate, etc. The oils and fats making up the remainder can be used alone or in combination of two or more.
Component (D): Dimer dilinoleate Dimer dilinoleate is a component that contributes to improving the application feeling and spreadability during application, and particularly provides a thick texture during application. The dimer dilinoleate is not particularly limited, but examples thereof include esters of dimer dilinoleic acid and dimer diol, such as dimer dilinoleyl dimer dilinoleate, and esters of dimer dilinoleic acid and alcohol or mixtures thereof, such as di(isostearyl/phytosteryl) dimer dilinoleate, and at least one selected from the group consisting of the above examples is preferable. Examples of commercially available products include LUSPLAN DD-DA5, LUSPLAN PI-DA, Plandool-H, and Plandool-G (all manufactured by Nippon Fine Chemicals Co., Ltd.), but are not limited thereto. In the present invention, one or more dimer dilinoleic acid esters can be used in combination.
If the content of dimer dilinoleic acid ester is too low, the application comfort and thick texture during application cannot be sufficiently obtained. On the other hand, if the content of dimer dilinoleic acid ester is too high, the product becomes heavy and sticky, and may, for example, make hair too heavy and tangled. The following can be seen from Table 1. Formulation Example 1 is an invention example that contains components (A), (B), and (C) as defined in the present invention, and was rated as extremely excellent in all evaluation items. In particular, the inclusion of component (A) significantly improved the application feel and aesthetic effect when used on hair. On the other hand, Formulation Examples 2 to 7 are comparative examples in which other solid waxes were used instead of ceresin, component (A). In these comparative examples, the melting application feel was reduced, the product felt heavy and spread poorly, resulting in a poor application feel in terms of application feel and spreadability upon application, a reduced shine, which is an aesthetic effect desired for hair, and no natural manageability. Furthermore, the poor spreadability resulted in poor uniform application to the skin.
The following can be seen from Table 2. Formulation examples 1, 8 to 10 are invention examples that contain components (A), (B), and (C) as defined in the present invention, and were rated as extremely excellent in all evaluation items. On the other hand, formulation examples 11 and 12 are comparative examples that use natural vegetable wax instead of component (B), the synthetic wax. In these comparative examples, the melting feel of the application was reduced, and the feel when applied, such as the feel of application and spreadability upon application, was poor. Furthermore, even when components (A) and (C) were combined with vegetable wax, the desired aesthetic effect of shine and manageability in hair was not achieved, and the uniform application onto the skin was also poor.
The following can be seen from Table 3. Formulation Examples 1, 14-16, and 19 are invention examples that contain the components (A), (B), and (C) defined in the present invention, and were evaluated as excellent in all evaluation items. On the other hand, Formulation Example 13 is a comparative example that uses triisostearin with a low IOB value as component (C). Formulation Example 13 had a light application feel, did not provide a melting application feel, and spread poorly when applied. In addition, the gloss and hold were insufficient, and the uniform application to the skin was also poor. Formulation Examples 17 and 18 are comparative examples that use PEG-10 glyceryl triisostearate and PEG-30 glyceryl triisostearate with high IOB values as component (C). In these formulations, the solid cosmetic product felt more likely to crumble, and the application feel and spread were poor. In addition, the higher the IOB value, the worse the gloss and hold of the hair became, and the uniform adhesion to the skin also decreased.
The following can be seen from Table 4. Prescription Examples 1, 22 to 24 are invention examples containing components (A), (B), and (C) that satisfy the mass ratio of components (A) and (B) within the preferred range specified in the present invention, and were rated as excellent in all evaluation items. They maintained their luster and manageability even after 24 hours, and were found to have excellent aesthetic effects on hair. Prescription Examples 1 and 23 were rated as extremely excellent in all evaluation items. Prescription Examples 21 and 25 are invention examples containing components (A), (B), and (C) specified in the present invention, but because the mass ratio of components (A) and (B) falls outside the preferred range of the present invention, they were rated slightly lower than Prescription Examples 1 and 21 to 24, but were still rated as excellent. On the other hand, Prescription Example 26, which does not contain component (A), and Prescription Example 20, which does not contain component (B), are both comparative examples, and did not provide a melting feel when applied, and the spread when applied was poor. Additionally, the shine and hold were insufficient, and the application to the skin was poor. These comparative examples also had poor aesthetic effect durability after 24 hours.

Formulation Examples 1, 28 to 29 are examples that satisfy the preferred range of the content of component (A) specified in the present invention, and were rated as excellent in all evaluation items. Formulation Example 27, which contains a slightly lower amount of component (A), caused the solid cosmetic to crumble more easily, and the application sensation was slightly decreased. Other evaluation items were also rated slightly lower than those of Formulation Examples 1, 28, and 29, but were rated as excellent. Formulation Example 30, which contains a higher amount of component (A), caused the solid cosmetic to become slightly harder, and the application sensation, which felt like it melted, was decreased. Other evaluation items were also rated slightly lower than those of Formulation Examples 1, 28, and 29, but were rated as excellent. Formulation Examples 1 and 28 were rated as extremely excellent in all evaluation items.

Formulation example 31, which contains a slightly lower amount of component (B), caused the solid cosmetic to crumble more easily, and the application sensation was slightly reduced. The other evaluation items were also rated slightly lower, but an excellent evaluation was obtained. Formulation example 34, which contains a higher amount of component (B), caused the solid cosmetic to harden slightly, and the application sensation, as if it were melting, was lessened. The other evaluation items were also rated slightly lower, but an excellent evaluation was obtained.
The following can be seen from Table 7. Formulation Examples 36 to 40 are invention examples that contain the (A), (B), and (C) components as specified in the present invention, and the content of the (C) component is changed. Formulation Examples 37 to 39 are examples that satisfy the preferred range of the (C) component content as specified in the present invention, and were rated excellent in all evaluation items, with particularly high effects on spread during application and uniform adhesion to the skin. In particular, Formulation Example 38 was rated extremely excellent. Formulation Example 36, which contains a low content of the (C) component, had a slightly lighter application feel and a slightly decreased application comfort. The other evaluation items were also rated slightly lower, but excellent. Formulation Example 40, which contains a high content of the (C) component, was slightly heavier and the spread during application was reduced. The other evaluation items were also rated slightly lower, but excellent. On the other hand, Formulation Example 35, which does not contain component (C), is a comparative example, and the solid cosmetic preparation had a light slipperiness, did not have a melting sensation when applied, had poor shine and cohesiveness, and did not adhere uniformly to the skin.
