Description
一般に、上記公開公報に記載された自動減速制御装置のような従来の自動減速制御装置は、車両が自動車専用道路を走行している状況において車両を自動的に減速して停止させるよう構成されている。車両を自動的に減速させるための減速度は、運転者が運転できる状態に回復し、運転に復帰することに対応できるよう、比較的穏やかな減速度に設定されている。
〔課題を解決するための手段及び発明の効果〕
更に、第一の減速度にて車両を自動的に減速するときには、減速開始後にハザードランプの点滅を開始させ(S40)、第二の減速度にて車両を自動的に減速するときには、減速開始以前にハザードランプの点滅を開始させる(S80)よう構成される。
車両が自動車専用道路を走行するときの車速は、車両が一般道を走行するときの車速よりも高いので、車両が自動車専用道路を走行するときには、車速が低下し車両が停止するまでの時間及び走行距離が長い。上記態様によれば、第一の減速度にて車両を自動的に減速するときには、減速開始後にハザードランプの点滅が開始される。よって、車両が自動車専用道路を走行するときの車速の変動範囲内において、過剰に早くハザードランプの点滅が開始することを回避することができる。
これに対し、の車速は、車両が自動車専用道路を走行するときの車速よりも低いが、一般道においては複数の車両が接近して走行することが多い。よって、車両が一般道を走行する状況において、車両が自動的に減速される場合には、ハザードランプの点滅が早期に開始されることが好ましい。
上記態様によれば、第二の減速度にて車両を自動的に減速するときには、減速開始以前に、即ち減速開始時又はそれよりも前に、ハザードランプの点滅が開始される。従って、車両が一般道を走行するときには、減速開始以前に車両が減速することの注意喚起を遅滞なく車両の周囲に与えることができる。
本発明の一つの態様においては、制御ユニット(運転支援ECU10)は、第一の減速度を最小値から最大値まで増大させる(S40)よう構成され、第二の減速度は最大値よりも大きい(S80)。
図1に示されているように、本発明の実施形態にかかる自動減速制御装置100は、車両102に適用され、運転支援ECU10を含んでいる。車両102は、駆動ECU20、制動ECU30、電動パワーステアリングECU40及びメータECU50を備えている。ECUは、マイクロコンピュータを主要部として備える電子制御装置(Electronic Control Unit)を意味する。なお、以下の説明においては、電動パワーステアリングECUはEPS・ECUと呼称される。
次に、図2に示されたフローチャートを参照して実施形態における自動減速制御ルーチンについて説明する。図2に示されたフローチャートによる自動減速制御は、図1には示されていないイグニッションスイッチがオンであるときに運転支援ECU10のCPUにより実行される。
次に、図3を参照して、自動車専用道路における減速パターンの具体例を説明する。なお、図3に示された減速パターンは例示の減速パターンであり、自動車専用道路における減速パターンは、図3に示された減速パターンに限定されない。

Claims (2)
- 運転者の状態を検出する運転者状態検出装置と、前記運転者状態検出装置により運転者が運転に不適合な状態であることが検出されると、制動装置を制御することにより所定の減速度にて車両を自動的に減速し停止させるよう構成された制御ユニットと、を含む車両の自動減速制御装置において、
前記制御ユニットは、前記車両が走行している道路が自動車専用道路であるか否かを判定し、道路が自動車専用道路であると判定したときには、前記所定の減速度を第一の減速度に設定し、道路が自動車専用道路ではないと判定したときには、前記所定の減速度を第二の減速度に設定するよう構成され、
