Description
Nutrients 2020,12(11)3285.doi:10.3390/nu12113285Application of Article 30, Paragraph 2 of the Patent Act October 27, 2020, Nutrients 2020, 12 (11) 3285. doi: 10.3390/nu12113285
The present invention contains (A) at least one selected from glycerin monoalkyl ethers having a linear or branched alkyl group with 6 to 12 carbon atoms, and (B) naringenin, naringin, hesperidin and compounds thereof. A novel scalp condition improving agent containing a tight junction (TJ) formation promoter which is at least one selected from plant extracts, and a scalp cosmetic containing the scalp condition improving agent.
The skin is composed of the epidermis and the dermis, and the epidermis is further divided into the basal layer, spinous layer, granular layer, and stratum corneum from the deep layer. One of the important functions of the skin is the barrier function, which plays a role of protecting against invasion and attack of foreign substances from the outside world and a role of preventing transpiration of water from the body.
When this barrier function breaks down, foreign substances such as bacteria and viruses can easily enter the body, causing inflammation and skin diseases. In addition, it may cause evaporation of water from the body, causing dryness of the skin and disturbance of turnover.
Tight junctions (hereinafter referred to as "TJs") are intercellular adhesion apparatus present in the granular layer and play an important role in skin barrier function.
In recent years, from this point of view, attempts have been made to search for substances that control the formation of TJs (Patent Document 1). Studies have been conducted using plant-derived extracts as substances that control the formation of TJs. Patent document 3) has reported.
As with normal skin, it is important to improve the skin barrier function of the scalp as well. A lot of sebaceous glands and sweat glands exist in the scalp, and it is a part containing more water and oil than normal skin. The scalp has a lower barrier function and moisturizing effect than normal skin, and is prone to problems.
However, conventional TJ formation promoters focus on functioning in normal skin, with little reference to the scalp. There is a demand for a scalp condition-improving agent that is suitable for the environment of the scalp, excels in improving the skin barrier function of the scalp, and has a TJ formation-promoting action that enhances the effects of functional ingredients to be combined.
An object of the present invention is to provide a scalp condition improving agent that is excellent in improving the skin barrier function of the scalp, and a scalp cosmetic using the same.
In order to solve the above problems, the present inventors have made extensive research efforts on the effects of flavonoids contained in plant extracts on TJ.
As a result, it was found that naringenin, naringin, and hesperidin exhibit excellent TJ formation-promoting activity, and plant extracts, particularly hesperetin, exhibit TJ-mitigating activity.
The present inventors have found a scalp condition improving agent containing a TJ formation accelerator by combining a glycerin monoalkyl ether having a linear or branched alkyl group of 6 to 12 carbon atoms with the above compound exhibiting a TJ formation accelerator. It has been found that it improves the familiarity with the scalp and improves the TJ formation promoting action on the scalp.
When the plant extract contained in the scalp condition improving agent contains both a compound exhibiting a TJ formation promoting effect and a compound exhibiting a TJ alleviating effect, the TJ alleviating effect necessary to effectively exhibit the TJ formation promoting effect. To the total amount of the compounds exhibiting the TJ formation promoting effect of the total amount of the compounds exhibiting the upper limit ratio to the total amount of compounds, the present invention is achieved.
Further, when a cosmetic containing a TJ alleviating agent and a functional ingredient is used as the first agent and a scalp cosmetic containing a scalp condition improving agent is used as the second agent, the TJ alleviating agent functions as the first agent. It is possible to promote the penetration of the functional ingredient by using it in combination with the functional ingredient, and to enhance the effect of the functional ingredient. The present invention was completed by discovering that the sustainability of the ingredients is improved.
