(2)製織プロセスに続いて、従来の水性擦り取り液を収容する浴中で85℃~95℃まで温度を上昇させ、12m/分で浴に布地を通過させた後、10m/分の線速度で120℃の4つのゾーンテンターオーブン内で布地を乾燥させることにより、OPWエアバッグを慣習的に擦り取った。
(3)反応性ポリウレタンホットメルト接着剤をOPWエアバッグ縫い目の上面又は下面のうちの少なくとも一方に塗布することによってOPWクッションの一部を処理した。ホットメルト接着剤は、≧50℃~≦180℃の範囲の融点を有し、ホットメルト接着剤の溶融粘度は、7,000mPa・s~40,000mPa・sであった(Brookfield Thermoselブランドの恒温槽を使用して≧90℃~≦130℃の範囲で測定)。使用した好ましいホットメルト接着剤は、130℃で30,000mPa・sの粘度、及び≧120℃~≦160℃の範囲の融点を有した。この種のホットメルト接着剤は、大気湿気への曝露に伴って硬化し、耐久性のあるエラストマを形成する。160℃に手動で加熱した接着剤ガンを使用して接着剤を塗布した。UVトレーサーをホットメルト接着剤に添加した。接着剤による縫い目の完全な被覆を確実にするために、UV光を塗布中に使用した。このようにして、縫い目全体への接着剤の一貫した完全な塗布が確保されることができる。
(4)ホットメルト接着剤の塗布後、縫い目構造への接着剤の浸透を可能にするために、高温でクッションに外部圧力を印加した。これは、任意の従来の圧力/加熱プロセス装置を使用して実行されることができる。好適な方法の1つの非限定的な例は、カレンダー加工とすることができる。カレンダー加工が使用される場合、圧力は、≧50℃~≦250℃のカレンダー加工ローラ表面温度によって≧1MPa~≦45MPaとすることができる。例えば、カレンダー加工は、約170℃のローラ表面温度と組み合わせて、50Nの力(約7MPa)で行うことができる。

Claims (26)
- ワンピース織布(OPW)エアバッグからの空気漏れを低減させる方法であって、
シームを有するOPWエアバッグを形成することと、
前記OPWエアバッグの1つ以上のシームにホットメルトシーラント材料を塗布することと、を含む、方法。 - 前記シーラント材料を前記1つ以上のシームに塗布する前に、前記OPWエアバッグをカレンダー加工することを更に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記シーラント材料を前記1つ以上のシームに塗布した後に、前記OPWエアバッグ上に軽量コーティングを適用することを更に含む、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記軽量コーティングが、ポリウレタン、ポリアミド、ポリオレフィン及びポリエステルから選択される軽量フィルムの形態であるか、又は≧5g/m2~≦40g/m2、及び≧5g/m2~≦20g/m2からなる群から選択される範囲から選択される単位面積あたり重量を有する、ポリ-ジメチレンシロキサンなどのシリコーン系コーティング、ポリウレタン及びポリクロロプレンなどのゴム組成物の分散体から形成される、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ホットメルトシーラント材料が、≧50℃~≦180℃、又は≧120℃~≦160℃などの、前記OPWエアバッグの布地よりも低い溶融範囲を有する、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記シーラント材料を前記OPWエアバッグシームに溶融、接着、及び圧縮することと、必要に応じて前記シーラント材料の塗布後に前記OPWエアバッグをカレンダー加工することと、を更に含む、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ホットメルトシーラント材料が、可視光範囲内の紫外線蛍光によって照射されたときに、前記方法が紫外線による前記ホットメルトシーラント材料の塗布をトレーシングすることを更に含む、トレーサー化合物を更に含む、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ホットメルトシーラント材料が、微小孔貫通性、低粘度、低表面張力シーラント、低厚フィルム、接着剤ウェブ、又は不透過性多層フィルムから選択される、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ホットメルトシーラント材料が、熱、光、又は化学架橋(大気湿気への曝露によるものを含む)によって硬化可能な低粘度シーラントである、請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記OPWエアバッグが、その膨張状態の持続時間の増加を呈する、請求項1~9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 例えば前記OPWシームから離れて前記OPWチャンバ内に0.3cmなど、前記OPWシームから離れて前記OPWチャンバ内に≧0.2~≦0.4cmに配置された、シーム全体の周囲にダブルステッチを形成することを更に含む、請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- OPWエアバッグであって、
ワンピース織布布地を備え、複数の織布層を有する前記布地の主部分と、前記主部分よりも少ない織布層を有する前記布地の副部分と、主部分の縁と、主部分及び副部分との間のシームと、を有し、
前記シームが、ホットメルトシーラント材料によってコーティングされる、OPWエアバッグ。 - 前記シームが、前記OPWエアバッグの前記表面積の≧2%且つ≦14%を構成する、請求項12に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- 前記ホットメルトシーラント材料が、≧50℃~≦180℃、又は≧120℃~≦160℃の融点範囲を有する反応性ポリウレタンである、請求項12又は13に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- 前記エアバッグが、前記ホットメルトシーラント材料の塗布前にカレンダー加工される、請求項12~14のいずれか一項に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- 前記エアバッグの前記主部分、前記副部分及び前記シームの部分が、シリコーン系コーティング(ポリ-ジメチレンシロキサンなど)、ウレタン(ポリウレタンなど)及びゴム組成物(ポリクロロプレンなど)から選択される軽量コーティングによってコーティングされ、前記軽量コーティングが、
a.≧5g/m2~≦40g/m2、及び
b.≧5g/m2~≦20g/m2、からなる範囲の群から選択される単位面積あたり重量を有する、請求項12~15のいずれか一項に記載のOPWエアバッグ。 - 前記布地の前記主部分が、100cm2の試験面積及び500Paの試験圧力による静的空気透過率によって測定される、≦1l/dm2/分のガス透過率によって特徴付けられる、請求項12~16のいずれか一項に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- 前記布地の前記主部分が、<70μmのRMS表面粗さ値を与えるレーザ表面形状測定によって特徴付けられるような低い表面平坦性を呈する、請求項12~17のいずれか一項に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- 前記ホットメルトシーラント材料が、100g/m2未満のレベルで存在する、請求項12~18のいずれか一項に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- シーム封止と組み合わせて、コーティングされていない布地から作製される、請求項12~19のいずれか一項に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- 以下からなる範囲の群から選択される前記エアバッグの表面全体にわたる平均コーティング重量を有する、請求項12~19のいずれか一項に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
a.≧10g/m2~≦65g/m2、
b.≧10g/m2~≦35g/m2、及び、
c.≧10g/m2~≦25g/m2。 - 前記エアバッグ布地がカレンダー加工されており、軽量フィルムが、前記カレンダー加工されたエアバッグ布地に適用されている、請求項12に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- 前記軽量フィルムが、別個のシーム封止の不在下で適用されている、請求項22に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- 前記軽量フィルムが、ポリウレタン、ポリアミド、ポリオレフィン及びポリエステルから選択される少なくとも1つを含む、請求項22又は23に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- 前記軽量フィルムが、例えば≧20g/m2~≦40g/m2など、≧10g/m2~≦50g/m2の単位面積あたり重量を有する、請求項24に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
- 例えば前記OPWシームから離れて前記OPWチャンバ内に0.3cmなど、前記OPWシームから離れて前記OPWチャンバ内に≧0.2~≦0.4cmに配置された、前記シーム全体の周囲にダブルステッチを更に含む、請求項12~25のいずれか一項に記載のOPWエアバッグ。
