Description
なお、本出願は、2017年3月27日に出願された日本国特許出願特願2017-061422号に基づく優先権を主張しており、その出願の全内容は本明細書中に参照として組み入れられている。
第1触媒層20の担体としては、従来この種の用途に用いられている種々の材質のものを適宜採用することができる。例えば、アルミナ(Al2O3)、セリア(CeO2)、ジルコニア(ZrO2)、シリカ(SiO2)、チタニア(TiO2)などの金属酸化物や、これらの固溶体(例えば、ジルコニア-セリア複合酸化物(ZC複合酸化物;ZrO2-CeO2))からなるものを好適に採用することができる。なかでも、アルミナやZC複合酸化物からなるものが好ましい。
比較例1として、入側セルと接する隔壁内部に入側触媒層を備え、かつ出側セルと接する隔壁内部に出側触媒層を備えた排ガス浄化用触媒を作製した。
次に、硝酸ロジウムと、アルミナ粉末と、ZC複合酸化物粉末と、Al2O3系バインダーとをイオン交換水中で混合して、スラリーBを調製した。なお、スラリーBは、基材の容量に対して、Rhが0.15g/L、Al2O3が6.53g/L、ZrO2-CeO2が11.25g/Lとなるよう調製した。
このようにして、比較例1の排ガス浄化用触媒を作製した。
上記作製した排ガス浄化用触媒について、PM捕集性能を評価した。具体的には、先ず、ガソリン直噴車両を所定のモードで走行させ、エンジンから排出されるPM粒子数a(個/km)を測定した。また、各例の排ガス浄化用触媒を、600℃以上で熱処理した。次に、各例の排ガス浄化用触媒を上記車両の排気経路に設置して、上記と同じモードで走行させた。このときに、排ガス浄化用触媒の下流に配置されたテールパイプから排出されるPM粒子数b(個/km)を測定した。そして、以下の式:PM排出割合(%)=(b/a)×100;からPM排出割合を算出した。結果を図4に示す。
スラリーBを、排ガス流出側の端部から、隔壁の延伸方向に沿って、基材の全長Lwの30~80%(0.3Lw~0.8Lw)の部分にコートしたこと以外は例1と同様に、例2~5の排ガス浄化用触媒を作製した。
上記作製した排ガス浄化用触媒について、車両評価で浄化性能を評価した。具体的には、先ず、各排ガス浄化用触媒をガソリン直噴車両の排気経路に設置し、熱交換器を用いて触媒入ガス温度を100℃から520℃まで昇温速度10℃/minで昇温させた。このときの入ガス濃度と出ガス濃度との比からNOx成分の浄化率を連続的に測定して、NOx成分の浄化率が50%に達したときの触媒入ガス温度(T50/NOx)を評価した。結果を表1および図5に示す。なお、T50/NOxは、数値が小さいほど浄化性能が良好なことを表している。

Claims (2)
- 内燃機関の排気経路に配置され、該内燃機関から排出される排ガスを浄化する排ガス浄化用触媒であって、
排ガス流入側の端部が開口し、排ガス流出側の端部が閉じられた入側セルと、排ガス流出側の端部が開口し、排ガス流入側の端部が閉じられた出側セルとが、多孔質な隔壁によって仕切られているウォールフロー構造の基材と、
前記出側セルに接し、かつ、前記入側セルに接しないように前記隔壁の内部に配置され、金属触媒としてパラジウムおよび白金のうちの少なくとも一方を含む第1触媒層と、
前記出側セルに接する前記隔壁の表面に配置され、金属触媒としてロジウムを含む第2触媒層と、
を備え、
前記第1触媒層は、前記隔壁の延伸方向に沿って前記隔壁の全長と同じ長さで配置され、
前記第2触媒層は、前記隔壁の延伸方向の全長を100%としたときに、前記排ガス流出側の端部から前記隔壁の延伸方向に沿って前記隔壁の全長の45%以上60%以下の長さで配置され、
前記入側セルと接する領域に触媒層を有しない、排ガス浄化用触媒。 - 前記内燃機関が、ガソリンエンジンである、請求項1に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
