Description
本発明の一様態によれば、前記負極を含む二次電池が提供され、このような二次電池は全般的な出力状態が改善して高出力が可能となるだけでなく、SOC30〜SOC50で優れた低温エネルギー効率を示すことが後述の実施例で証明される。
負極活物質は、球形化天然黒鉛9.51gと、導電材としてSn(Alfa Aesar,Sn powder 0.1 micron)0.1g及びカーボンブラック(carbon black)0.1gと、バインダーとして水系スチレンブタジエンゴム(SBR)0.22gと、を混合した。これらを溶媒である水に添加して混合することで負極スラリーを製造した。製造された負極スラリーを銅集電体の一面に塗布し、約60℃で24時間乾燥して13.33cm2大きさの負極を製造した。エチレンカーボネート(EC)と、ジメチルカーボネート(DMC)と、エチルメチルカーボネート(EMC)とを1:2:7の体積比で混合し、前記非水電解液溶媒にLiPF6を添加することで1M LiPF6非水電解液を製造した。正極にNMC 622(LiNi0.6Mn0.2Co0.2O2)100%の電極を用い、正極と負極との間にポリオレフィンセパレーターを介した後、前記電解液を注入することでパウチ型モノセルを製造した。
Sn 0.3gを用いることを除いては実施例1と同様の方法で負極を製造し、続いてパウチ型モノセルを製造した。
Sn 0.5gを用いることを除いては実施例1と同様の方法で負極を製造し、続いてパウチ型モノセルを製造した。
Snを用いないことを除いては実施例1と同一の方法で負極を製造し、続いてパウチ型モノセルを製造した。
実施例1〜3及び比較例1で製作された二次電池を4Vまで定電流で充電を行った後、4Vで電流が0.1Cに到達するまで定電圧で充電した。そして、2.8Vまで定電流で放電を施した。
図1は、本発明の実施例1〜3のモノセル電池が、比較例1のモノセル電池に比べて常温(25℃)における電荷移動抵抗が少ないことを示すEIS(@SOC50)グラフである。
図2a〜2dは、本発明の実施例1〜3及び比較例1各々のモノセル電池の電荷移動に必要な活性化エネルギー(Ea)を示すグラフである。

(前記式において、Rctは電荷移動抵抗であり、Aは頻度因子(preexponential factor)であり、Eaは活性化エネルギーであり、Rは一般気体定数であり、Tは絶対温度(K)である。)
図3は、本発明の実施例1〜3及び比較例1各々のモノセル電池における、SOC変化による抵抗変化を示すグラフである。
本発明の実施例1〜3及び比較例1各々のモノセル電池の発現容量を図4aに示した。
図4aを見れば、実施例1〜3のモノセル電池が比較例1のモノセル電池よりも大きい充放電容量を有することが分かり、Sn含量が最も多い実施例3のモノセル電池で充放電容量の増加が最も著しかった。
−10℃、370mA、SOC30の条件で、2.0Vに到達する時間を測定することで低温における抵抗を評価した。その結果、比較例に比べて実施例1〜3において2Vに到達する時間がより長くかかり、このような現象は実施例3で最も著しく示され、実施例3の負極における低温抵抗が最も低かったことが分かる。
図6は、実施例1で製造された負極を撮影したSEM写真である。図6によれば、Sn金属粉末粒子110が活物質200の周りを囲んでおり、カーボンブラック120も、活物質200の周りを囲んでいる。Sn金属粉末粒子とカーボンブラック各々の粒径が相異なるため、相互補完的に活物質の周りを囲んで導電材として作用できる。
Claims (9)
- 負極集電体及び前記負極集電体の少なくとも一表面に形成された炭素系負極活物質層を含む二次電池用の負極であって、Sn金属粉末粒子と炭素材の導電材とが共に導電材として作用し、
前記Sn金属粉末粒子が、活物質粒子直径の10%以下の粒径を有し、
前記Sn金属粉末粒子が、0.01〜1μmの粒径を有し、
前記Sn金属粉末粒子と炭素材の導電材とが、重量基準で1:1〜5:1の組成比で含まれる二次電池用の負極。 - Sn金属粉末粒子が、バインダー高分子によって炭素系負極活物質に結合していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の二次電池用の負極。
- 前記Sn金属粉末粒子が、負極活物質100重量%を基準で1〜5重量%の含量で含まれることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の二次電池用の負極。
- 前記炭素材の導電材が、10〜50nmの平均粒径を有する球状のカーボンブラック一次粒子であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の二次電池用の負極。
- 前記炭素材の導電材が、隣接しない二つ以上の活物質に点接触可能な繊維状のグラファイトであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の二次電池用の負極。
- 前記バインダー高分子が、水に分散して用いられるバインダー高分子であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の二次電池用の負極。
- 前記バインダー高分子が、スチレン−ブタジエンゴムであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の二次電池用の負極。
- 前記Sn金属粉末粒子が、SnO2から来由したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の二次電池用の負極。
- 負極、正極、前記負極と正極との間に介されるセパレーター及び電解質を含む二次電池であって、
前記負極が、請求項1〜請求項8のうちいずれか一項に記載の負極であり、前記電解質が、リチウム塩を含むことを特徴とする二次電池。
