Description
正極または負極の製造過程において、正極または負極に針状のバリが形成される場合がある。上記のバイポーラ電池によれば、セパレータがこの針状のバリに接触することを抑制することができる。
(実施の形態1)
図1は、本実施の形態1に係るバイポーラ電池1が搭載された車両2を模式的に示す模式図である。この図1に示すように、車両2は、バッテリユニット3を含む。
(実施の形態2)
本実施の形態2においては、積層体と押圧板の間に断熱部材を設けることによって、最上段および最下段の単位電池の温度変動を低減し、バイポーラ電池の電気特性を安定化させる構成について説明する。
(実施の形態3)
本実施の形態3では、積層体11の放熱性の向上を図るために、集電板40にシール部材42から大きく張り出す放熱部を形成することで、積層体11の放熱性の向上が図られた構成について説明する。
(実施の形態4)
実施の形態4では、シール部材42の内側で、積層方向D1に隣り合う集電板40が短絡することを抑制する構成について説明する。
(実施の形態5)
本実施の形態5においては、集電板40の変形などのように、正極43や負極45が集電板40から剥離することを助長する現象が生じたとしても、正極43および極45と集電板40との密着性を確保された構成について説明する。
(実施の形態6)
ニッケル水素電池などの水系電池においては、たとえば、充電時において、電解液に含まれる水の電気分解が電極の副反応として起き、電解液が枯渇する場合がある。本実施の形態においては、電解液の枯渇の抑制が図られたバイポーラ電池について説明する。
Claims (11)
- 積層方向に配列された第1端部および第2端部と、前記第1端部および前記第2端部の間に前記積層方向に積層された複数の単位セルとを含む積層体と、
前記積層体の前記第1端部および前記第2端部を押圧して前記積層体を拘束する拘束具と、
を備え、
前記複数の単位セルの各々は、
前記積層方向に配列する第1主表面および第2主表面を含む集電板と、
電解液が含浸されたセパレータを含むと共に前記第1主表面に配置された単位電池と、
前記第1主表面に設けられると共に前記単位電池の周囲を取り囲むように形成されたシール部材とを含み、
前記シール部材は、前記拘束具からの押圧力によって前記積層方向に隣り合う前記集電板に密着しており、
前記積層体の前記第1端部は、前記集電板の前記第2主表面から構成され、
前記積層体の前記第2端部は、前記集電板の前記単位電池が配置されない前記第1主表面から構成され、
前記拘束具は、前記第1端部を押圧する第1押圧板と前記第2端部を押圧する第2押圧板を含み、
前記第1端部を構成する前記第2主表面の全面が前記第1押圧板によって押圧され、
前記第2端部を構成する前記第1主表面の全面が前記第2押圧板によって押圧される、バイポーラ電池。 - 前記拘束具は、前記第1押圧板および前記第2押圧板を接続する複数の接続部材とを含み、
前記複数の接続部材は、互いに間隔をあけて配置されており、
前記積層体は、外部に露出している、請求項1に記載のバイポーラ電池。 - 前記集電板および前記シール部材を前記積層方向から離れた位置から視ると、前記シール部材は前記集電板内に位置しており、
前記集電板は、前記シール部材よりも外方に張り出す放熱部を含む、請求項2に記載のバイポーラ電池。 - 前記集電板は、前記集電板のうち前記シール部材よりも外方に位置する部分を被覆する絶縁部材を含む、請求項3に記載のバイポーラ電池。
- 前記第1端部を構成する前記第2主表面と前記第1押圧板の間と、前記第2端部を構成する前記第1主表面と前記第2押圧板の間との少なくとも一方に配置された断熱部材をさらに備えた、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載のバイポーラ電池。
- 前記断熱部材は、絶縁材料によって形成された、請求項5に記載のバイポーラ電池。
- 前記単位電池を前記積層方向から離れた位置から視ると、前記セパレータは、前記集電板の前記第1主表面うち、前記単位電池の設置部分から前記シール部材の設置位置までの間に位置する部分を覆うように形成された、請求項1から請求項6のいずれか1項に記載のバイポーラ電池。
- 前記シール部材は、前記セパレータの外周縁部が載せられる段差部を含む、請求項1から請求項7のいずれか1項に記載のバイポーラ電池。
- 前記積層体は、前記積層方向に配列された第1集電板および第2集電板を含み、
前記単位電池は、前記第1集電板および前記第2集電板に挟まれており、
前記単位電池は、前記第1集電板の第1主表面に形成された正極と、前記第2集電板の第2主表面に形成された負極とを含み、
前記第1集電板のうち前記正極が形成される部分と、前記第2集電板のうち前記負極が形成される部分との少なくとも一方に形成された凹凸状の粗面部をさらに備える、請求項1から請求項8のいずれか1項に記載のバイポーラ電池。 - 前記積層体は、前記積層方向に配列された第1集電板および第2集電板を含み、
前記単位電池は、前記第1集電板および前記第2集電板に挟まれており、
前記単位電池は、前記第1集電板の第1主表面に形成された正極と、前記第2集電板の第2主表面に形成された負極とを含み、
前記第1集電板の第1主表面と前記正極との間と、前記第2集電板の第2主表面と前記負極との間との少なくとも一方に形成された導電膜をさらに備える、請求項1から請求項8のいずれか1項に記載のバイポーラ電池。 - 前記集電板のうち前記単位電池の設置位置と前記シール部材との間に位置する部分に、凹部が形成されており、
前記凹部には、電解液が貯留されており、
前記セパレータは、前記凹部内の電解液と接触する、請求項1から請求項10のいずれか1項に記載のバイポーラ電池。
