Claims (2)
- シールケース及びこれを洞貫する回転軸の一方に固定された固定密封環と、その他方に当該固定密封環に押圧接触するべく附勢された状態で当該回転軸の軸線方向に移動可能に保持された可動密封環とを具備して、両密封環の対向端面である密封端面の相対回転摺接作用により被密封流体領域と非密封流体領域とを遮蔽シールするように構成すると共に、被密封流体領域においてシールケースに形成したフラッシング通路から両密封環の相対回転摺接部分に向けてフラッシング液を噴出させるフラッシング手段を設けてある端面接触形メカニカルシールにおいて、
各密封環の外周面であってフラッシング液が接触する部分及び密封端面に、当該密封環の構成材に比して熱伝導係数及び硬度が大きい材料からなるコーティング層を一連に形成してあることを特徴とする端面接触形メカニカルシール。 - 前記コーティング層がダイヤモンドで構成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載する端面接触形メカニカルシール。
