Description
そのため、万が一このような流出があった場合、海流に乗り拡散する前に速やかに油を回収することが求められる。
従来、天然繊維や合成繊維の不織布を積層したもの(特許文献1)、ウレタンフォーム、もしくは細粒化した鉱物(焼成し、発泡体としたもの)(特許文献2)などが広く用いられている。
ゲル化とは、樹脂酸類、ロジン類の金属塩等の金属石鹸を用いて油をゲル化させて回収する方法である(特許文献3)。また、ポリノルボルネン樹脂やスチレン-ブタジエン共重合体を用いた油吸着材も開発されている(特許文献4)。

<ポリカーボネート樹脂の製造方法>
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂は、原料であるジオール化合物(ヒドロキシ化合物)と、炭酸ジエステルを、塩基性化合物触媒、もしくはエステル交換触媒またはその双方からなる混合触媒の存在下で反応させる溶融重縮合法により製造することができる。
本発明では原料として式(2)で表されるジオールを使用する。
炭酸ジエステルとしては、例えばジフェニルカーボネート、ジトリールカーボネート、ビス(クロロフェニル)カーボネート、m−クレジルカーボネート等が挙げられる。これらの中でも特にジフェニルカーボネートが好ましい。炭酸ジエステルは、ジヒドロキシ化合物の合計1モルに対して0.50〜2.00モルの比率で用いることが好ましく、さらに高分子量体を得るためには1.00〜1.05モルの比率で用いることが好ましい。
以下に、本発明で使用することが望ましい塩基性化合物触媒及びエステル交換触媒を示す。
また、本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂には、その物性を損なわない範囲で目的に応じ各種公知の添加剤を加えても良い。
そのような添加剤としては、酸化防止剤、紫外線吸収剤、離型剤、難燃剤、帯電防止剤、顔料、染料等が挙げられ、これらは必要に応じて単独または組み合わせて用いることができる。
本発明にかかわる溶融重縮合法は、前記の原料、および触媒を用いて、加熱下に常圧または減圧下でエステル交換反応により副生成物を除去しながら溶融重縮合を行うものである。反応は、一般には二段以上の多段行程で実施される。
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂は、式(1)で表される繰り返し構成単位を有する。
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂の重量平均分子量は、5000以上100万以下が好ましい。粘性体を製造する場合には、ポリカーボネート樹脂の重量平均分子量は1万以上3万以下が好ましく、1万1000以上2万5000以下がより好ましく、1万2000以上2万以下が特に好ましい。
一方、弾性ある固体を製造する場合には、ポリカーボネート樹脂の重量平均分子量は7万以上50万以下が好ましく、9万以上40万以下がより好ましく、10万以上35万以下が特に好ましい。
なお、粘性体か固体の判定は室温(25℃)で行う。
また、他原料へ樹脂改質の目的で添加した場合、該樹脂の改良だけでなく、バイオマス度を上げる効果も得られる。
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂は油をよく吸収する。油の種類は、石油および石油から生成される油、植物油、動物性油脂などが例示される。
石油及び石油から生成される油は、主として炭化水素化合物であり、代表的なものとして、ナフサ、石油エーテル、ガソリン、ベンジン、ホワイトガソリン、灯油、軽油、ケロシン、ジェット燃料、ディーゼル燃料、軽油、灯油、重油、残油、パラフィンワックス、タール、アスファルトなどが例示される。
植物油としては、菜種油、オリーブオイル、大豆油、紅花油、ごま油、パームオイル、ひまわり油、ココナッツ油、カカオバター、ひまし油、オレイン酸、α-リノレン酸、リノール酸、コーン油、綿実油、パーム油、ピーナッツ油などが例示される。
動物性油脂としては、肝油、ギー、魚油、鯨油、シュマルツ、スエット、鶏油、バター、ヘット、ラードなどが例示される。
油を吸収させる樹脂1gを、室温条件下、吸収させる油に浸漬したのち、取出して重量を測定し、以下の式に従い吸油倍率を計算する。
油吸収率(g/g)=(浸漬後の試料重量−浸漬前の試料重量)/浸漬前の試料重量
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂の吸水率は10重量%以下が好ましく、2%以下が更に好ましい。本発明において、吸水率の測定方法はJIS K 7209:2000に従う。
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂の特徴として、油吸収率と吸水率の比が大きいことが挙げられる。好ましい油吸収率/吸水率は1〜1000であり、より好ましくは300〜900である。
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂の比重は2g/cm3以下が好ましく、1g/cm3未満が特に好ましい。本発明において、比重測定方法はJIS Z 8807:2012に従う。
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂は、油をよく吸収することから、油吸着材として使用出来る。吸水率が低いことから、本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂を水面に投入したとしても、水ではなく油をよく吸収する。
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂のうち、固体のものを使用した場合、油を吸収した後もその形状を保つため、油吸着後の回収が容易である。
一方、液状または粘性体のものを使用した場合、細かな隙間の油を回収することができる。

吸水率(g/g)=(浸漬後の重量−浸漬前の試料重量)/浸漬前の試料重量
式(2)においてa+b+c+d=30である炭素数36の長鎖脂肪族ジオール48.35g、ジフェニルカーボネート(以下、DPCと略称する)19.61gを300mlのガラス製四口フラスコ反応器に入れ、触媒(炭酸水素ナトリウム)を30μmol添加した。オイルバスにて加熱を行い、200℃からエステル交換反応を開始した。
反応開始から5分後に攪拌を開始し、20分後、10分かけて760Torrから200Torrまで減圧した。減圧しながら温度を210℃まで加熱し、反応開始後70分後で220℃まで昇温、80分後から30分かけて150Torrまで減圧、温度を240℃まで昇温させるとともに1Torrまで減圧したのち10分間保持し、ポリカーボネート樹脂を得た。
得られたポリカーボネート樹脂は、重量平均分子量が240,000であった。室温で弾性ある固体であった。比重は0.94g/cm3であった。
炭素数36の長鎖脂肪族ジオールを48.12g、DPCを22.56gに変更した以外は、実施例1と同様に操作を行いポリカーボネート樹脂を得た。この樹脂は重量平均分子量が14,000であった。得られたポリカーボネート樹脂は、室温で粘性体であり、水に浮いた。
50Lオイルジャケット付き反応器にスケールを上げ、重合を行った。式(2)においてa+b+c+d=30である炭素数36の長鎖脂肪族ジオールを20.0kg、DPCを8.1kg入れ、次いで炭酸水素ナトリウム溶液を該ジオールのモル数に対して6μmol入れた。熱媒温度を205℃に設定し、205℃到達10分後に撹拌を始め、30分で205torrまで減圧し、フェノール留出を確認した後、フェノール留出から40分後に180torrまで減圧、215℃まで昇温、さらにその30分後に150torrまで減圧、230℃まで昇温、その40分後120torrまで減圧、240℃まで昇温、10分後100torrまで減圧、100torr到達後50分かけて1torr以下まで減圧、1torr以下になった時点から30分で反応を終了した。この樹脂の重量平均分子量は130,000であった。室温で弾性ある固体であった。比重は0.94g/cm3であった。
実施例1で製造したポリカーボネート樹脂を1g切り出し、室温条件下、ケロシンに浸漬して膨潤した試料の重量を計測、下記式に基づいて油吸収率を計算した。結果を表1に示す。

ケロシンの代わりにサラダオイル(日清オイリオグループ株式会社製 日清サラダ油 原材料は食用大豆油、食用なたね油)に浸漬したほかは実施例4と同様に操作した。結果を表2に示す。

結果を表3に示す。
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂の代わりに、市販吸油マット(JOHNAN株式会社製 油吸着材アブラトールシート、ポリプロピレン製不織布)を使用したほかは、実施例4と同様に操作した。結果を表4に示す。
本発明のポリカーボネート樹脂の代わりに、比較例1と同じ市販吸油マット(ポリプロピレン製不織布)を使用したほかは、実施例6と同様に操作した。結果を表5に示す。
Claims (9)
- 式(1)で表される繰り返し構成単位を含むポリカーボネート樹脂を用いた油吸収材。
- 前記ポリカーボネート樹脂が式(1)で表される繰り返し構成単位のみからなる請求項1記載の油吸収材。
- a+b+c+dが30である請求項1または2に記載の油吸収材。
- 前記ポリカーボネート樹脂が25℃で固体である請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の油吸収材。
- 前記ポリカーボネート樹脂におけるポリスチレン換算の重量平均分子量が7万〜50万である請求項4に記載の油吸収材。
- 前記ポリカーボネート樹脂が25℃で粘性体である請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の油吸収材。
- 前記ポリカーボネート樹脂におけるポリスチレン換算の重量平均分子量が1万〜3万である請求項6に記載の油吸収材。
- 前記ポリカーボネート樹脂における比重が1g/cm3未満である請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の油吸収材。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の油吸収材の製造方法であって、下記式(2)で表されるジヒドロキシ化合物を原料として用いることを特徴とする油吸収材の製造方法。
