Description
図1に示すように、本実施形態の車両制御装置が適用される車両のエンジン10は、自動変速機11を介して駆動輪12に駆動連結されている。エンジン10の回転は、自動変速機11で変速された後、駆動輪12に伝達される。この車両に搭載される自動変速機11は、ギア比の異なる複数のギア段の中から使用するギア段を選択することで、変速比を段階的に切り換える有段式の自動変速機として構成されている。
(イ)高地を走行している。
(ロ)台車の牽引などで、車重が重くなっている。
(ハ)手動変速モードにおいて運転者が、現状の車両の走行状況に適したギア段よりもハイ側のギア段、すなわち変速比がより低くなる側のギア段を選択している。
高地等の低大気圧下で、手動変速モードにおいてハイ側のギア段が選択された状態で車両が走行されている場合、低大気圧下での冷却水の沸点の低下、エンジン10の高負荷運転によるエンジン発熱の増加、並びにエンジン10の低回転運転によるウォーターポンプ17の吐出流量の低下が相まって、冷却水の沸騰が生じやすい状態となる。本実施形態の車両制御装置では、こうした状態でのエンジン10の運転が規定時間以上継続すると、出力低下制御によってエンジン出力が平時よりも低下される。
(1)本実施形態では、運転者のアクセルペダル操作に応じたエンジン10の出力制御において、エンジン10の負荷状況に対して同エンジン10の冷却能力が不足すると判断される条件が成立したときには、そのときのアクセル操作量ACCPで同条件が成立していない場合のエンジン出力よりも同エンジン出力を低下させるようにしている。そのため、エンジン回転速度NEが高められて冷却水温の上昇を抑制可能な、運転者のダウンシフト操作を促すことができる。こうした操作誘導の結果によるエンジン回転速度NEの上昇は、運転者が自ら行った操作の結果によるものであり、それが違和を感じさせることはない。したがって、運転者が違和をより感じにくい態様で冷却水の過昇温を抑制することができる。
・上記実施形態では、沸騰判定値まで冷却水温THWが上昇したときの過昇温時制御として、車両の退避走行を可能とするだけの必要最小限の大きさまでエンジン出力を低下させる制御を行うようにしていたが、これとは別の態様で過昇温時制御を行うようにしてもよい。例えばエンジン出力の低下は行わず、運転者への警告のみを過昇温時制御として行うようにすることもできる。
Claims (4)
- エンジンと、そのエンジンにより駆動されて同エンジンを冷却するための冷却水を循環させるウォーターポンプと、前記エンジンの回転を変速して駆動輪に伝えるとともに、その変速比を手動操作により変更可能な変速機と、を備える車両に適用されて、運転者のアクセルペダル操作に応じて前記エンジンの出力制御を行う車両制御装置において、
前記出力制御において、前記エンジンの負荷状況に対して同エンジンの冷却能力が不足していると判断される条件が成立したときには、そのときのアクセル操作量で前記条件が成立していない場合のエンジン出力よりも同エンジン出力を低下させる、
ことを特徴とする車両制御装置。 - 前記条件は、前記エンジンの要求負荷率が制限負荷率よりも高いことをその成立の要件とする、
請求項1に記載の車両制御装置。 - 前記制限負荷率は、大気圧が低いときには、同大気圧が高いときに比して、低い値に設定される、
請求項2に記載の車両制御装置。 - 前記条件は、現状の車両の走行状況に応じて決定される基準変速比よりも低い変速比とされていることをその成立の要件とする、
請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の車両制御装置。
