Claims (10)
- 円筒状の外周面に形成された案内部と、
前記外周面に沿って配置され前記外周面の周方向に移動する複数の第1の移動部材と、
互いに隣接する前記第1の移動部材の間に配置され、前記第1の移動部材とともに前記周方向に移動する、前記第1の移動部材と同じ個数の第2の移動部材と、
前記第1及び第2の移動部材にそれぞれ保持され前記第1及び第2の移動部材とともに移動し、受取位置において被搬送物の保持を開始し、引渡位置において前記被搬送物の保持を解除する複数のパッドと、
(a)前記第1及び第2の移動部材のいずれか一方又は両方の各移動部材にそれぞれ設けられ、(b)軸部材を含み、前記軸部材は、前記各移動部材に回転可能に支持され前記各移動部材とともに移動し、前記案内部に係合する係合部を有し、前記各移動部材の移動に伴って同じ方向に回転し、(c)前記軸部材の回転によって前記各移動部材に保持された前記パッドを、前記外周面の径方向に延在する回転軸心まわりに回転させ、前記第1の移動部材に保持された前記パッドと前記第2の移動部材に保持された前記パッドとの回転の違いによって、前記受取位置では前記パッドで同じであった前記被搬送物の向きを、前記引渡位置では、前記第1の移動部材に保持された前記パッドと前記第2の移動部材に保持された前記パッドとで異なるようにする複数のパッド回転機構と、
を備えたことを特徴とする、搬送装置。 - 前記被搬送物は、連続しているウエブであり、
互いに隣接する前記第1及び第2の移動部材の間に配置され、前記第1及び第2の移動部材とともに前記周方向に移動する複数のアンビルと、
前記パッドに保持されながら移動する前記ウエブに、間隔を設けて対向し、前記アンビルの移動と同期しながら回転する回転部材と、
前記回転部材に保持され、前記回転部材の外側に突出する刃先を有し、前記回転部材の回転に伴って前記刃先が前記アンビルに対向するカッターと、
をさらに備え、
前記ウエブのうち前記パッドに保持され互いに隣接する前記パッドの間に延在する部分が前記カッターの前記刃先と前記アンビルとの間に挟まれて切断されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の搬送装置。 - 前記パッド回転機構は、歯車を介して前記軸部材の回転を前記パッドに伝達することを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の搬送装置。
- 前記パッド回転機構は、
前記第1の移動部材に設けられ、前記軸部材の回転を同じ方向のまま前記第1の移動部材に保持された前記パッドに伝達する同方向パッド回転機構と、
前記第2の移動部材に設けられ、前記軸部材の回転を逆方向に変換して前記第2の移動部材に保持された前記パッドに伝達する逆方向パッド回転機構と、
を含み、
前記第1の移動部材に保持された前記パッドと前記第2の移動部材に保持された前記パッドとは、互いに逆方向に回転することを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3のいずれか一つに記載の搬送装置。 - 前記第1の移動部材に保持された前記パッドは、前記同方向パッド回転機構の前記軸部材に同軸に固定され、
前記第2の移動部材に保持された前記パッドは、前記逆方向パッド回転機構の前記軸部材と同軸かつ相対回転可能に、前記第2の移動部材に保持されていることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の搬送装置。 - 前記逆方向パッド回転機構は、
前記第2の移動部材に保持された前記軸部材と一体に回転する第1の歯車と、
前記第2の移動部材に保持された前記第2のパッドと一体に回転する第5の歯車と、
前記第2の移動部材に回転可能に支持され、前記第1の歯車と噛み合う第2の歯車と、
前記第2の移動部材に回転可能に支持され、前記第5の歯車と噛み合う第4の歯車と、
前記第2の歯車と前記第4の歯車とのいずれか一方に噛み合うとともに、他方と同軸かつ一体に回転する第3の歯車と、
を含むことを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の搬送装置。 - 案内部が形成された円筒状の外周面に沿って、前記外周面の周方向に交互に配置された同じ個数の第1及び第2のパッドを、前記周方向に移動させる第1のステップと、
前記第1のステップによって移動している前記第1及び第2のパッドに、受取位置において被搬送物の保持を開始させ、引渡位置において前記被搬送物の保持を解除させて、前記被搬送物を前記受取位置から前記引渡位置まで搬送する第2のステップと、
前記第2のステップによって前記被搬送物を保持しながら移動している前記第1及び第2のパッドのいずれか一方又は両方の各パッドについて、前記各パッドとともに移動する係合部を前記案内部に係合させることによって、前記係合部を有する軸部材に同じ方向の回転を発生させ、前記軸部材の回転を前記各パッドに伝達して前記各パッドを前記案内部に追従して回転させ、前記第1及び第2のパッドの回転の違いによって、前記受取位置では前記第1及び第2のパッドで同じであった前記被搬送物の向きを、前記引渡位置では前記第1のパッドと前記第2のパッドとで異なるようにする第3のステップと、
を備えたことを特徴とする、搬送方法。 - 前記第3のステップにおいて、前記第1及び第2のパッドを、前記案内部に追従して互いに逆方向に回転させることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の搬送方法。
- 前記第1のステップにおいて、互いに隣接する前記第1及び第2のパッドの間にそれぞれ配置された複数のアンビルを、前記第1及び第2のパッドとともに前記外周面の前記周方向に移動させ、
前記第2のステップにおいて、前記第1及び第2のパッドが保持を開始する前記被搬送物は、連続しているウエブであり、
前記第3のステップにおいて、前記各パッドが前記受取位置と前記引渡位置との間の切断位置を通過した後に、前記各パッドの前記案内部に追従する回転が始まり、
カッターを回転部材によって保持し前記回転部材に配置した付勢部材からの付勢力によって前記カッターを所定位置まで付勢して前記カッターの刃先を突出させた状態で、前記第1のステップにおける前記アンビルの移動と同期して前記回転部材を回転させ、前記切断位置において、前記第2のステップによって搬送されている前記ウエブのうち互いに隣接する前記第1及び第2のパッドの間に延在する部分を、前記カッターの前記刃先と前記アンビルとの間に挟んで切断する第4のステップを、さらに備え、
前記第4のステップにおいて、前記付勢部材は、前記カッターの前記刃先に前記付勢力より大きい反力が作用したときに前記カッターが前記所定位置から後退することを許容することを特徴とする、請求項7又は8に記載の搬送方法。 - 前記第1のステップにおいて、前記第1及び第2のパッドをそれぞれ保持し前記外周面に沿って前記周方向に交互に配置された第1及び第2の移動部材を、前記周方向に移動させることを特徴とする、請求項7乃至9のいずれか一つに記載の搬送方法。
