Description
図1は、本発明に係る車両用発電装置が適用される車両の概略構成を示している。この車両は、5人乗りのハッチバックタイプ(図2参照)のハイブリッド車両、より詳しくはシリーズ式ハイブリッド車である。
図2に示すように、上記車両は、車室10の前方部に設置されるダッシュパネル11と、その下端部から車両の後方側に延びるように設置されるフロントフロアパネル12と、該フロントフロアパネル12の後端部から立ち上がるように設けられるキックアップ部13と、当該キックアップ部13の上部から後方に延びるリヤフロアパネル14とを有している。そして、上記フロントフロアパネル12上に、運転席および助手席からなる前列シート15が設置され、その後方側のリヤフロアパネル14上に、後列シート16が設けられている。
上述したように、当例では上記発電ユニット1、燃料タンク5およびエンジン2の吸排気系が本発明の車両用発電装置に相当するが、この車両用発電装置では、上記の通り、エンジン2として1ロータの小型ロータリエンジンが適用され、エキセントリックシャフトが上下方向に延びる縦置きの状態で当該エンジン2が車両に組み込まれることで、エンジン2が上下方向に偏平な構造となっている。そして、エンジン2の吸排気のポート構造としてペリ吸気およびサイド排気が採用された上で、吸気管42がロータハウジング64の側面に、排気管46が下側のサイドハウジング62bの側面にそれぞれ接続され、これら吸気管42および排気管46がほぼ水平面に沿って配索される構造となっている。そのため、この車両用発電装置によれば、エンジン2、吸気管42および排気管46が上下方向に集約して配置されることとなり、これにより車両用発電装置の上下方向の占有スペースが効果的に縮小される。しかも、下側のサイドハウジング62bに排気ポート72が設けられているため、排気騒音も抑制される。すなわち、排気ポート72が設けられる下側のサイドハウジング62bとリヤフロアパネル14との間に上側のサイドハウジング62aおよびロータハウジング64が介在することで、排気ポート72で生じる排気音がこれらハウジング62a、64により遮音され、車室10への影響が緩和される。

Claims (3)
- 車両のフロアパネルの下方位置に配置される車両用発電装置であって、
発電機と、
前記発電機を駆動するためのエンジンであってかつ出力軸が上下方向に延びる状態で上記車両に搭載されるロータリエンジンと、
このロータリエンジンに接続される吸気管および排気管と、を含み、
上記ロータリエンジンは、上下一対のサイドハウジングとそれらの間に位置するロータハウジングとを備え、かつ前記ロータハウジングに吸気ポートが形成される一方、前記上下一対のサイドハウジングのうち、下側のサイドハウジングに排気ポートが形成されており、
上記吸気管は、上記吸気ポートに連通するように上記ロータハウジングの側面に接続され、
上記排気管は、上記排気ポートに連通するように上記下側のサイドハウジングの側面に接続されており、この排気管に連通するように、当該下側のサイドハウジングの内部で上記排気ポートが屈曲しており、
上記発電機と上記ロータリエンジンとは車幅方向に隣接して配置されており、
上記ロータリエンジンの上記ロータハウジングは、車両前方側の位置に上記吸気ポートを備えており、
上記吸気管は、上記ロータハウジングの車両前方側の側面に接続されかつ上記発電機の車両前方側の位置を横切って車幅方向に延びている、ことを特徴とする車両用発電装置。 - 請求項1に記載の車両用発電装置において、
上記排気管は、上記ロータリエンジンよりも車両前方側の位置であってかつ上記吸気管の下方位置に配置される排気浄化装置を含む、ことを特徴とする車両用発電装置。 - 請求項2に記載の車両用発電装置において、
上記発電機に隣接する位置であってかつ車幅方向における上記ロータリエンジンとは反対側の位置にエンジン駆動用の燃料が収容される燃料タンクが備えられ、
上記排気管は、上記エンジンから排出されて上記排気浄化装置で浄化された排気を、上記発電機の下方位置を経由して車両後方に案内するように構成されている、ことを特徴とする車両用発電装置。
