電解液が、式(1)で表される炭酸エステルを0.01質量%以上、4質量%以下の範囲で含むことを特徴とするリチウム二次電池
(式中、R1からR6は、独立して、水素原子、水素原子がハロゲン原子で置換されていてもよく若しくは炭素原子が酸素原子で置換されていてもよい炭素数1〜12のアルキル基又はアルケニル基を示し、
R1とR4は一体となって直接結合を示していてもよく、
R 1 からR6の少なくとも一つは、水素原子がハロゲン原子で置換されていてもよく、炭素原子の少なくとも一つが酸素原子で置換された炭素数1〜12のアルケニル基を示す。)に関する。

負極活物質層は、充放電に伴いリチウムイオンを可逆的に吸蔵、放出可能な負極活物質を含み、この負極活物質が負極用結着剤によって負極集電体上に結着した構造を有するものである。
正極活物質層は、正極活物質を含み、正極活物質が正極用結着剤によって正極集電体上に結着した構造を有するものである。
電解液は、充放電時に正極負極においてリチウムの吸蔵放出を可能とするため、正極と負極を漬浸してリチウムイオンを溶解可能な非水系の有機溶媒に、電解質を溶解したものである。
H−(CX1X2−CX3X4)n−CH2O−CX5X6−CX7X8−H
で表されるものが好ましい。式中、nは1、2、3又は4を示し、X1〜X8は独立してフッ素原子又は水素原子を示す。但し、X1〜X4の少なくとも1つはフッ素原子を示し、X5〜X8の少なくとも1つはフッ素原子を示す。
H−(CF2−CF2)n−CH2O−CF2−CF2−H
で表されるものがより好ましい。式中、nは1又は2であることがより好ましい。
セパレーターは、正極及び負極の導通を抑制し、荷電体の透過を阻害せず、電解液に対して耐久性を有するものであれば、いずれであってもよい。具体的な材質としては、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン等のポリオレフィン系、セルロース、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリイミド、ポリフッ化ビニリデン等を採用することができる。これらは、多孔質フィルム、織物、不織布等として用いることができる。
外装体としては、上記正極及び負極、セパレーター、電解液を安定して保持可能な強度を有し、これらの物質に対して電気化学的に安定で、水密性を有するものが好ましい。具体的には、例えば、ステンレス、ニッケルメッキを施した鉄、アルミニウム、シリカ、アルミナをコーティングしたラミネートフィルムを用いることができ、ラミネートフィルムに用いる樹脂としては、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレンテレフタレート等を用いることができる。これらは、1層又は2層以上の構造体であってもよい。外装体としてのラミネートフィルムは、金属と比較して安価であるものの内部にガスが発生した場合に、内圧により変形が生じやすいが、上記炭酸エステル(1)を含有する電解液を用いることにより、ガスの発生が抑制され、変形を抑制することができ、電池の設計における自由度を確保することができる。
上記二次電池の形状は、上記円筒型、扁平捲回角型、積層角型、コイン型、扁平捲回ラミネート型、及び積層ラミネート型のいずれでもよいが、充放電に伴いガスが発生した場合、積層される電極の間隔が広がり変形が生じやすい積層ラミネート型電池であっても、負極活物質層の劣化が抑制され、特に高温環境での使用に対し負極活物質の劣化が抑制され、その変形が低減される。
本発明の車両は、上記リチウム二次電池をモーター駆動用電源として搭載したものであれば、いずれであってもよく、車両としては、電気自動車、ハイブリッド車等何れであってもよい。
[参考例1]
[リチウム二次電池の調製]
負極活物質として、平均粒径5μmのケイ素と、平均粒径30μmの黒鉛とを、90:10の質量比で計量し、メカニカルミリングで24時間混合して、負極活物質を得た。この負極活物質(平均粒径D50=5μm)と、負極用結着剤としてのポリイミドの前駆体のポリアミック酸(商品名UワニスA:宇部興産株式会社製)とを、85:15の質量比で計量し、これをn−メチルピロリドンと混合して、負極スラリーとした。負極スラリーを厚さ10μmの銅箔に塗布した後に乾燥し、窒素雰囲気300℃の熱処理を行い、ポリイミドの形成と共に負極を作製した。
作製したリチウム二次電池の高温サイクル特性を以下のように測定した。二次電池に対し、60℃に保った恒温槽中で2.5Vから4.1Vの電圧範囲で50回充放電を反復し、放電容量を測定した。5サイクル目の放電容量D5に対する50サイクル目の放電容量D50の比、D50/D5(単位:%)を算出し、維持率とした。また、5サイクル目の電池体積V5に対する50サイクル目の電池体積V50の比、V50/V5(単位:%)を算出し、膨れ率とした。結果を表1に示す。
炭酸エステルとして、式(4)で示される化合物に替えて、式(5)〜式(17)で示される化合物を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に二次電池を作製し、サイクル特性の評価を行った。結果を表1に示す。
負極結着剤としてポリイミド前駆体に替えてポリアミドイミド前駆体(PAI)(商品名パイロマックス:東洋紡績株式会社)を用い、炭酸エステルとして表2に示すものを用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に二次電池を作製し、サイクル特性の評価を行った。結果を表2に示す。
負極活物質として、平均粒径5μmのケイ素と、平均粒径13μmの非晶質酸化ケイ素(SiOx、0<x≦2)と、平均粒径30μmの黒鉛とを、29:61:10の質量比で計量し、メカニカルミリングで24時間混合して、負極活物質を得た。この負極活物質(平均粒径D50=5μm)は、酸化ケイ素中にケイ素が分散していた。この負極活物質を用い、炭酸エステルとして表3に示すものを用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に二次電池を作製し、サイクル特性の評価を行った。結果を表3に示す。
負極結着剤としてポリイミド前駆体に替えてポリアミドイミド前駆体(PAI)(商品名パイロマックス:東洋紡績株式会社)を用い、炭酸エステルとして表4に示すものを用いた以外は、実施例29と同様に二次電池を作製し、サイクル特性の評価を行った。結果を表4に示す。
体積比EC/DEC=30/70からなるカーボネート系非水溶媒に替えて、体積比EC/PC/DMC/EMC/DEC/フッ素化エーテル=10/10/10/10/10/50からなるカーボネート系非水溶媒を用いたこと以外は、実施例1、15、29、43と同様に二次電池を作製し、サイクル特性の評価を行った。フッ素化エーテルは、H−(CF2)2−CH2O−(CF2)2−Hを用いた。結果を表5に示す。
式(4)で示される炭酸エステルを用いなかったこと以外は、実施例1、15、29、43と同様に二次電池を作製し、サイクル特性の評価を行った。結果を表6に示す。
Claims (9)
- 正極活物質を含む正極活物質層と、負極活物質としてケイ素系材料を含む負極活物質層と、これらを漬浸する電解液とを有するリチウム二次電池において、
電解液が、式(1)で表される炭酸エステルを0.01質量%以上、4質量%以下の範囲で含むことを特徴とするリチウム二次電池。
(式中、R1からR6は、独立して、水素原子、水素原子がハロゲン原子で置換されていてもよく若しくは炭素原子が酸素原子で置換されていてもよい炭素数1〜12のアルキル基又はアルケニル基を示し、
R1とR4は一体となって直接結合を示していてもよく、
R 1 からR6の少なくとも一つは、水素原子がハロゲン原子で置換されていてもよく、炭素原子の少なくとも一つが酸素原子で置換された炭素数1〜12のアルケニル基を示す。) - 式(1)中、R1からR6の何れかが、アリル基であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 負極活物質としてのケイ素系材料が、ケイ素及び酸化ケイ素を含み、ケイ素及び酸化ケイ素の少なくとも一方が、炭素系材料からなる負極活物質の被膜を有することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- ケイ素が酸化ケイ素中に分散されて含有されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 酸化ケイ素がアモルファス構造を有することを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 負極活物質として、アルミニウム、鉛、スズ、インジウム、ビスマス、銀、バリウム、カルシウム、水銀、パラジウム、白金、テルル、亜鉛、若しくはランタンの金属、及び、酸化アルミニウム、酸化スズ、酸化インジウム、酸化亜鉛、若しくは酸化リチウムの金属酸化物から選ばれる1種以上を含有することを特徴とする請求項1から5の何れかに記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 負極活物質層が、負極活物質をポリイミド及びポリアミドイミドから選ばれる1種以上を含む結着剤により一体化されたものであることを特徴とする請求項1から6の何れかに記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 積層ラミネート型であることを特徴とする請求項1から7の何れかに記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 請求項1から8の何れかに記載のリチウム二次電池をモーター駆動用電源として搭載したことを特徴とする車両。
