Description
なお、各図面では、各部材を認識可能な大きさとするために縮尺を適宜変更している。
なお、図3は、車両用前照灯1Lの前方25mの位置に配置される仮想鉛直スクリーン上に投影される配光パターンを示している。また、仮想鉛直スクリーン上にH−V領域を設定して、その配光パターンを説明する。H軸を水平方向(車両左右方向)、V軸をH軸に垂直な方向(車両上下方向)とする。
なお、図3(a)に図示される全部点灯の配光パターンでは照射領域PA1と照射領域PA2とはその一部分が重なる状態で配光されている。
右前照灯1Rの照射領域PA6と左前照灯1Lの照射領域PA3との配光合成では、照射領域PA6が左右方向に延びる略台形状であるため、前述の照射領域PA3での明瞭領域HCAは照射領域PA6の中央部で重なることになり、結果的に非照射領域との境界に位置せず、カットラインCLとならない。
上記実施形態では、各車両用前照灯に設けられる半導体発光素子チップを3つとしたが、これに限らずそれ以外の数としても良い。また、複数の半導体発光素子チップを一列の状態で並べたが、これに限らず二列などの複数列にしても良い。また、半導体発光素子チップの発光面の形状を正方形としたが、これに限らず長方形などの矩形状を採用することができる。
Claims (2)
- 複数の半導体発光素子チップと、
回転放物面を基調とする反射面を有し、該反射面によって前記半導体発光素子チップから発せられる光を反射して車両前方へ照射するリフレクタと、
を備えた車両用前照灯であって、
複数の前記半導体発光素子チップは、車両の左右方向に沿って配列され、
前記リフレクタの反射面の焦点は、隣り合う前記半導体発光素子チップの間に配置されると共に、前記車両の左右方向における複数の前記半導体チップの中心からずれた位置に配置され、
隣り合う前記半導体発光素子チップは、互いに独立して点消灯可能であって、
前記車両用前照灯によって形成された配光パターンにおいて、複数の前記半導体発光素子チップの仮想最大像の各々の寸法は、複数の前記半導体発光素子チップの仮想最小像のうちの対応する一つの寸法の2倍以下である、
ことを特徴とする車両用前照灯。 - 前記半導体発光素子チップの発光面は四角形状であり、該四角形状の各辺のうち前記焦点に近い一辺が車両の前後方向に沿うように前記半導体発光素子チップが配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の車両用前照灯。
