Claims (24)
- 中央ゾーンと同心であり、この中央ゾーンの外縁からレンズの縁まで、各々が投影表面積を有する奇数番目及び偶数番目が交互するように形成された複数の同心円状の環状ゾーンを備える単一の半径方向表面プロファイルを有する第1の回折光学面を有する光学要素を備える、回折型多焦点レンズであって、前記レンズの光学的厚さは、各ゾーン内で単調に変化し、光学的厚さの相異なるステップは、前記ゾーンの間の接合部で生じ、前記ステップの高さは、夫々の初期の高さと夫々のピーク値との差異によって各々規定されると共に、少なくともいくつかの隣接するゾーンの間で異なり、2つ以上の隣接するゾーンの間のステップ高さの差のパターンは、前記光学要素の前記単一の半径方向表面プロファイルのゼロ次、+1次及び+2次の回折次数効率を調整して、中間距離視力を向上させるために少なくとも+1次の回折効率を増大させるように、前記レンズの中心から縁部に向けて前記夫々の初期の高さから直線状又は単調に変化するプロファイルを有する鋸歯形状が前記レンズの中心から縁部まで周期的に繰り返す、回折型多焦点レンズ。
- 偶数ゾーンの前記ステップ高さは、奇数ゾーンの前記ステップ高さよりも大きい、請求項1に記載のレンズ。
- 2つの隣接するゾーンの間の前記ステップ高さの差は、前記レンズの中心から縁部にかけて徐々に変化する、請求項2に記載のレンズ。
- 前記偶数ゾーンの前記ステップ高さは、奇数ゾーンの前記ステップ高さ未満である、請求項1に記載のレンズ。
- 2つの隣接するゾーンの間の前記ステップ高さの差は、前記レンズの中心から縁部にかけて徐々に変化する、請求項4に記載のレンズ。
- 少なくとも3つの半径方向に連続するゾーンの前記ステップ高さは、相互に異なる、請求項1に記載のレンズ。
- 前記3つ以上の前記ステップ高さは、前記レンズの中心から縁部にかけて徐々に変化する、請求項6に記載のレンズ。
- 前記ステップ高さは、少なくともゼロ次、+1次、および+2次の前記回折効率が実質的に等しくなるように選択される、請求項1に記載のレンズ。
- 少なくともゼロ次、+1次、および+2次の前記回折効率は、相互に対して選択された割合を有する、請求項1に記載のレンズ。
- 各連続したゾーンの投影表面積は、実質的に一定である、請求項1に記載のレンズ。
- 各ゾーンの半径方向の表面プロファイル高さは、円弧を形成する、請求項1に記載のレンズ。
- 各ゾーンの半径方向の前記表面プロファイル高さは、実質的に線形に増加する、請求項1に記載のレンズ。
- 前記第1の回折光学面と区切られた屈折光学面である第2の光学面をさらに備える、請求項1に記載のレンズ。
- 2つの隣接するゾーンの間の前記ステップ高さの差は、前記レンズの中心から縁部にかけて徐々に変化する、請求項1に記載のレンズ。

- 回折型多焦点レンズを作製する方法であって、
単一の周期的半径方向表面プロファイルパターンを有する光学要素をモデル化することと、
前記モデルから、前記パターン化された光学要素を通して伝播する光の回折効率分布を計算することと、
前記レンズの前記単一の半径方向表面プロファイルの少なくともゼロ次、+1次及び+2次の回折次数について所望の回折効率を達成し、中間距離視力を向上させるために少なくとも+1次の回折効率を増大させるように、前記回折効率分布に従って、寸法パラメータを選択することと、
光学基板の表面に、前記選択された寸法パラメータを含む前記周期的表面プロファイルパターンを形成することと、を含み、
前記表面プロファイルパターンは複数の同心円状の環状ゾーンを有し、前記レンズの光学的厚さは、各ゾーン内で単調に変化し、光学的厚さの相異なるステップは、前記ゾーンの間の接合部で生じ、前記ステップの高さは、夫々の初期の高さと夫々のピーク値との差異によって各々規定されると共に、少なくともいくつかの隣接するゾーンの間で異なり、2つ以上の隣接するゾーンの間のステップ高さの差のパターンは、前記光学要素の前記単一の半径方向表面プロファイルのゼロ次、+1次及び+2次の回折次数効率を調整して、中間距離視力を向上させるために少なくとも+1次の回折効率を増大させるように、前記レンズの中心から縁部に向けて前記夫々の初期の高さから直線状又は単調に変化するプロファイルを有する鋸歯形状が前記レンズの中心から縁部まで周期的に繰り返す、方法。 - 前記寸法パラメータは、前記表面プロファイルの中に複数の異なるステップ高さを作成するように選択される、請求項18に記載の方法。
