と、0を超え0.50重量%までの範囲の酸化セリウム、0を超え0.75重量%までの範囲の酸化マンガン、及びこれらの混合物の群から選択される酸化剤とからなる、レドックス比が0.005〜0.15の範囲である、ガラス組成物。 - 酸化セリウムが、0.01から0.15重量%の範囲である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- FeOが、0.001〜0.010重量%の範囲である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- Fe2O3(全鉄)が、50から200ppmの範囲である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- レドックス比が、0.005から0.10の範囲である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- 酸化剤が、0.02から0.45重量%の範囲の酸化セリウム、0.02から0.50重量%の範囲の酸化マンガン、及びこれらの混合物の群から選択される、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- FeOが0.001〜0.010重量%の範囲であり、全鉄が50から200ppmの範囲であり、レドックス比が0.005から0.10の範囲であり、酸化剤が、0.02から0.45重量%の範囲の酸化セリウム、0.02から0.50重量%の範囲の酸化マンガン、及びこれらの混合物の群から選択される、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。

0.0005から0.015重量%の範囲のFeOを有し、レドックス比が0.005から0.10の範囲であり、且つFeOを酸化させる第1の酸化剤を有する溶融低赤外線吸収リチウムガラス組成物を提供する成分を有するガラスバッチ材料を供給するステップと、
ガラスバッチ材料に、第1の酸化剤の量の1又は2倍に等しい量で第2の酸化剤を添加して、炉内で溶融ガラス中のFeOを酸化させるステップと;
ガラスバッチ材料を供給する前記ステップと前記の第2の酸化剤を添加してFeOを酸化させる前記ステップの実施を中止するステップと
からなる前記方法。 - 第1及び第2の酸化剤が、CeO2及びMnO2及びこれらの混合物の群から選択される、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 第1及び第2の酸化剤がそれぞれCeO2である、請求項14に記載の方法。
