本発明のひとつの実施態様によれば、少なくとも2つの偏光板が、前記2つの偏光板のひとつが、他の偏光板の少なくとも1つに関して交差する方向を持つように設けられる。そのような配置により、バンドパスフィルタが形成される。これは、ある特定の波長を持った前記スペクトル検出器への入射光を、前記キラル分子のらせんピッチにより定義される波長付近の狭い波長バンドと、前記コレステリック材料の平均屈折率とを持つ円偏光に変換する。従って、十分定義された波長範囲内の円偏光だけが、前記偏光板及びコレステリック材料を通って前記フォトセンサアレイに到達する。
さらに別の本発明の実施態様によれば、コレステリック液晶を含む前記層の部分は、前記層を通過する光線が実質的に同一のらせんピッチを持つコレステリック液晶材料を通過するように設けられる。好ましくは、前記電磁放射は、可視光を含む。この構成により、前記スペクトル反射基板に入射する光線は、フォトディテクタアレイに到達する前に、以下の単一の十分定義されたバンドパスフィルタのみを一般的に通過し、フォトディテクタアレイで生成されるシグナルの引き続くすべての可能な処理を単純にする。かかる十分定義されたバンドパスフィルタは、コレステリック液晶を含む前記層に伴う前記キラル分子のらせんピッチで定義される特定の光学的伝達性を持つ。
Claims (15)
- スペクトル検出器であり:
コレステリック液晶混合物を含む層であって、
前記層が、前記層内のひとつ又はそれ以上の部分でのコレステリック液晶混合物のらせんピッチが、前記コレステリック液晶混合物の他の部分でのらせんピッチに比べて異なるように設けられる、層;
2つの偏光板であって、
コレステリック液晶を含む前記層が、前記2つの偏光板の間に位置する、2つの偏光板;及び
前記2つの偏光板のひとつに隣接して配置されるフォトディテクタアレイ;を含み、
前記コレステリック液晶混合物を含む前記層の前記部分が、前記コレステリック液晶を含む前記層を通過する光線が、同じらせんピッチを持つコレステリック液晶材料を通過するように設けられ、
前記コレステリック液晶混合物が架橋されている、
スペクトル検出器。 - それぞれの部分が、前記層の前記部分の前記キラル分子の前記らせんピッチにより定義される特定の光学的伝達特性を持つ単一のバンドパスフィルタを供する、請求項1に記載のスペクトル検出器。
- 前記2つの偏光板が、前記偏光板のひとつが、前記偏光板の他の偏光板に対して交差する方向を持つように、設けられる、請求項1又は2に記載のスペクトル検出器。
- コレステリック液晶を含む前記層を方向付けるために、さらに配向層を含む、請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のスペクトル検出器。
- コレステリック液晶混合物を含む前記層が、少なくとも4μmの厚さを有する、請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載のスペクトル検出器。
- フォトディテクタアレイ、コレステリック液晶混合物を含む層及び2つの偏光板を含む、スペクトル検出器の製造方法であり:
前記偏光板が、前記コレステリック液晶を含む層が前記2つの偏光板の間に位置するように設けられ、
当該方法が:
前記コレステリック液晶を含む層に電磁放射を適用するステップであって、前記層の前記電磁放射曝露の程度を前記層の全体を通して変化させて前記層の複数の部分を形成させ、ひとつ又はそれ以上の部分の前記コレステリック液晶混合物のらせんピッチが、他の部分の前記コレステリック液晶混合物のらせんピッチと比べて異なり、前記コレステリック液晶を含む層の前記部分が、前記コレステリック液晶を含む層を通過する光線が、同じらせんピッチを含む前記層を通過するように、設けられる、ステップと、
前記コレステリック液晶を含む層で前記コレステリック液晶混合物を架橋するステップとを含む、製造方法。 - それぞれの部分が、前記層の前記部分の前記キラル分子の前記らせんピッチにより定義される特定の光学的伝達特性を持つ単一のバンドパスフィルタを供する、請求項6に記載の製造方法。
- 前記2つの偏光板の1つを、他の前記偏光板と交差する方向を持つように、さらに設けるステップを含む、請求項6又は7に記載の製造方法。
- 前記コレステリック液晶を含む層を方向付けるために、配向層を適用するステップをさらに含む、請求項6乃至8のいずれか1項に記載の製造方法。
- 前記層に電磁放射を適用するステップが、前記層の前記電磁放射曝露の時間が前記コレステリック層の少なくとも2つの部分で異なるように実施される、請求項6乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の製造方法。
- 前記コレステリック液晶を含む前記層に電磁放射を適用するステップが、前記スペクトル検出器にマスクを適用することを含み、前記マスクは複数の開口を有し、前記開口は電磁放射に対して異なる伝達性を有し、電磁放射の量が、電磁放射が適用される際にコレステリック液晶を含む前記層の範囲全体を通じて変化する、請求項6乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の製造方法。
- 前記マスクが濃度値マスクである、請求項11に記載の製造方法。
- 請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載のスペクトル検出器を含む、光学バイオセンサ。
- 請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載のスペクトル検出器と1又はそれ以上の発光ダイオードとを含む、照明装置。
- 請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載のスペクトル検出器を含む、光治療装置。
